Robata Wasa - Irvine

Met for business lunch. Spectrum. Easy to find location. Good service. Carpacio appetizer was tasty but TINY for $20, not a good value at all. Lunch main course of sashimi was good quality and relative to the carpacio a decent value. I’d probably go back.

This was probably the worst sushi I ever had. Service was extremely slow, waited for ever.

We've been going to Robota Wasa periodically for some time. They used to have a fantastic sushi lunch with about 6-8 sushi each of which was really nicely thought through and prepared. Yesterday we went and ordered the sushi lunch. Instead of the interesting, original sushi, we were brought about 7 sushi each of which was a piece of fish on top of plain sushi rice. We started eating and found the quality to be just fine but the meal was nothing special. We asked our waitress about it and she said they had just changed the menu. Do you think they could have mentioned it? So, Robota Was remains good but honestly, no longer special in terms of their food.

Service was terrible. We asked where our Brussels sprouts were. The server said oh sorry do you still want them. We couldn’t get attention to get a check after we stack up all the dishes. Menu changes wasn’t as good. I’d been twice before the menu change and it was better. Will not return.

Our waiter Caleb was very polite, super fun and knowledgeable.
