7 of us ate well - could have shared as the servings were huge. My ceviche was delicious. Husband had an enchilada that could have fed 4 yet still tasted terrific. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant:
Thought considering the time of year thought the food would be prepared with fresh ingredients - boy was I wrong. The chorizo cheese rolls should be called greasy deep fried potatoes and ground beef rolls because we could find neither chorizo nor cheese in our appetizer. Our main course was so underwhelming neither was can remember what we ate. The waitress was pleasant and the décor was Mexican reminiscent of what y... View all feedback.
We shared the seafood fajitas and it was served in a sauce that included tomato base and a pineapple slice. Very confused and not so Mexican spiced. Atmosphere was okay, dark, warehouse style. Service was excellent. Will not return, can get better fajitas in another...restaurant that does not specialize in Mexican cuisine.
Went for a dinner on a Friday evening. We both ordered the small size chicken tortilla soup which we thought was amazing. Good flavour, hearty with tons of chicken and portion size was a meal in itself. We also ordered the sampler platter to share...and ended up taking most of it home as the soup was so filling. It was also good and a lot of food. Prices were good especially in light of serving sizes. While not the most tastefully decorated it did convey a Mexican theme and we were more concerned with the quality of food.
Unassuming facade.. looks like a warehouse. The interior has obviously seen better times... and is rather dark dingy and dusty. However the food was decent.. good sized portions, quick and friendly service and tasty food.
My wife and I love to come here when in Kamloops. Food is always great! Staff always friendly. If your in the area stop in!
Heard about this place from the "You Gotta Eat Here" show a few years ago so decided to check it out. Walked in the door and was very surprised at apparently what a dive it's become. From reading other reviews in hindsight, it looks like...ownership changes occurred and it certainly shows. The entrance was anything but inviting and some guy folding cardboard boxes in the restaurant called me to take a seat anywhere. This wasn't a problem as the place was virtually empty. I took a seat and nearly slid off the bench which was covered with what could have been a loose bed sheet. A server brought the standard chips and salsa and menu. I immediately asked if they had a bean dip instead of salsa and she stated that a substitution wouldn't be possible but that I could order an entire plate of refried beans and cheese off the menu and use that instead. I declined as that seemed to miss the point. (I have eaten in dozens of Mexican restaurants across several continents and have never had someone balk at giving a few ounces of bean dip instead of salsa right off the bat). She asked for my beverage order and I asked for a water which she brought in what appeared to be a greasy cup. I took one look at the menu and saw that not only were the items ridiculously overpriced (certainly for a rundown greasy place as it was but that a notable number of items on the menu had faded tape over them saying that the items were unavailable. No longer even remotely interested in trying this place, I handed back the menu and left. Now to her credit, the server was warm and friendly which is the only reason I am rating this place as 'poor' and not 'terrible'. How unfortunate when what appear to be promising new independent places with great food, flair and character (as was featured on the TV show) so quickly turn into greasy and unwelcoming examples of neglect. Best to pass on this option as Kamloops has much better to offer elsewhere.
