Each year we plan the day around a trip to Kensington to do the Haunted House but the best part of that day is lunch at the Frosty Treat! The staff are happy friendly and the food is well worth the wait! The pieces of fish appear to be full fillets it is enough for two people or two meals! The batter on the fish and the clams was light and flavourful cooked just right! The fries are also just exactly the right crispi... View all feedback.
What Islandspud doesn't like about Frosty Treat Dairy Bar:
We used to rely on Frosty Treat for their delicious fried clams, but our recent experience was disappointing. The clams were small and overwhelmed by too much batter, resulting in an unpleasant texture. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they simply laughed and did not offer a solution. It seems that this lack of quality is becoming a common issue at this restaurant, based on feedback from others. View all feedback.
Oreo flurry was good, raspberry shake very disappointing (soft cream and very little milk). This used to be the go-to place but it's lost a step....

This local bakery has both excellent breads as well as lovely desserts. We also love some of there refrigerated goods. Some of the best potato salad and great fish cakes.
While I wasn 't ready for lunch. I waited while my caregiver and her Grand Daughter went in for lunch ... My treat, of course. I anticipated $20.00 or so on my credit card. One had a club sandwich while the other had a chicken burger and fries. What a surprise!!!! The bill was more than TWICE what I expected. Last time I was there, my sandwich was $3.99 (which is. according to my caregiver, now $7.99). I guess they jacked the prices up but don 't have updated online prices because knowing things have changed in the past while, I even checked the menu online before agreeing to go. I was OK with $20,00 OR SO! (Maybe even $25.00 for a 12 year old and her Grammie), but $44.00? In short, I can 't fault the quality because I didn 't actually eat there today), but at these prices, I Never Will Again! (Well ... maybe once again if I ever win the lotterie, but living on nothing but cpp oas)? Also, approx 1/2 of each sandwich and some fries were brought home, which will be fed to the crows. Other than that, my caregiver says it was fine .
This is not just an excellent place for ice cream, but it is also a great place for a full meal, including some of the best lobster rolls on the island. We stopped in years ago because of a National Geographic article about the lobster rolls and have been going back regularly ever since. Top off a meal of succulent lobster salad and crisp French fries with its creamy soft serve ice cream and you have found heaven.
