Pretty darn good food. It unfortunate that the scenery inside is pretty dated, yet the food quality and volume is very good. They also have some large tables to support groups of 8 or so. VIP has been around for quite some time, being one of the first Chinese restaurants in the city. View all feedback.

This was recommended by a lady we asked at the propane station of a gas station parking lot, by Candian Tire on Princess St. Was not disappointed (hope she reads this!)Jimmy, owner & chef, was very pleasant & welcoming. We were there on a Wed. night & were the only customers, so we were a bit apprehensive about the quality until we ate. Later, a solo man came in to dine. There were a few take out orders while we were there. The service was great! All 4 dishes were tasty but the tofu with grouper was surprisingly excellent! The spring roll was also good & it had small chicken pieces which was a surprise! We ordered a dinner for one to go, so we could have it the next day (microwave at hotel).Good luck to you, Jimmy! The 3 Chinese ladies from Ontario & Florida!
D then brought it out with a different sauce. i couldnt eat it, Kim the owner was not fair. i got ripped off.
The restaurant suffers from age and the usual Chinese décor, including the mandatory fish tank.Other than the dated surroundings, the service and food was really quite good.IMHO the food needs to be hot temperature wise, spicy and have unique tastes. This restaurant qualifies in all accounts. Hot and sour soup, Won Ton soup are excellent starters. The entrees are delicious and have generous portions. It appears to be a family run business and service was good.
I've been to this restaurant for over 15 years and only because of the food!! The food is absolutely amazing! But...the service is terrible. Literally every time I go there to dine in, my order always comes to the table either incorrect or I'm missing something. Once I a while I could see but every time? Also, the store hours are rediculous. They say they are open at certain times but aren't. I drove from Almost an hour to have lunch one day. Around 1pm on a Tuesday. Closed. Great food so that I highly recommend but otherwise , can't say anything good :/
