Finding Les Platanes de Chenas takes a little effort but it will be well rewarded when you get there. A dining room with a stunning view over the Beaujolais vineyards is only the start. What Aimée Roussel doesn't like about Les Platanes de Chénas:
Un très bel endroit un peu déserté pour un samedi soir mais nous avons dégusté un repas qualité rapport prix dans l'ensemble très bon ... Cependant" un petit bonsoir et merci de votre visite' nous aurait fait plaisir de la part de la serveuse ou du patron .... Parti sans que personne nous salut ça fait bizarre... View all feedback.
We had the mid priced set menu (not the cheapest, not the most expensive) and all felt we had a first rate dinner. The chef asked us afterwards how we had enjoyed ourselves. It was easy to be positive! We were 2 couples and we felt there was sufficient choice on the menu. We were there on a Saturday in June and it was comfortably busy rather than full. Service was competent rather than OTT. Highly recommended.

We had an amuse bouche of creme brulee with fois gras an unusual combination on paper but excellent in actuality. Starters of chestnut soup, lobster, and rabbit terraine were all very good as were the mains of char, steak, and lamb. Cheese was very good too with a special mention for the camembert with pepper. Desserts were good too. And the bill was EUR230 for 4, including two bottles of excellent local wine and two bottles of water. Worth a visit if you are in the locality.

What a gem in the louisville Clifton area When we arrived, my friend and I were cheerfully greeted and immediately seated.
I have eaten here a few times for brunch and today was the first time going for dinner I would've rated a full 5 but the service was really bad.
