Contribute FeedbackNickson is a favorite dining spot in town, though the pandemic has introduced some challenges. Jenny provides excellent service, but the food can be overly salty. The limited menu is a smart response to decreased diners. While some patrons find the food quality top-notch, others think improvements can be made, like having orders served at appropriate times. Overall, Nickson offers exceptional food and a friendly atmosphere, with a variety of dishes from burgers to French-style pizza. Despite some minor flaws, it remains a popular choice for many diners looking for a satisfying meal in La Grange.
This was my first time dining here. I made the reservation based on location for meeting a friend of mine for dinner. Our server was very attentive and pleasant to speak with. The only complaint we would have was when her orders came out. She ordered a side salad as her first course and the crab cakes as her main course, but they came out at the same time with my entree.
My favorite place to eat in town, but since the pandemic it hasn't been the same. I want to support them and always get good service from Jenny, but the food is too salty and the booth we sat in had duct tape on the cushions to hold it together. I understand the limited menu and think that is a smart idea while the number of diners is lower. Hopefully they can make some changes soon.
Very attentive staff, very accommodating with adjusting my meal as well as I’m vegan. Best of all it was delicious!
Nickson’s is a great place to go for exceptional food and friendly service. We started with the soup my advice is ALWAYS start with their soup. We then ordered crab cakes which had the crispiest and lightest breading and a side salad. My husband ordered the shrimp poor boy for his entree and I had the beef brisket grilled cheese. All I can say is DELISH!
Sign of times, very limited menu. However, everything we ordered was very good.
