Whenever we are in town we love to go to Dizz’s As Is. The food is always consistent and delicious. The owner Dominique is a hands on owner who makes the dining experience a restaurant you want to come back to. View all feedback.
What Cathryn Wuckert doesn't like about Dizz's As Is:
The roasted duck was overcooked and dry, with empty meat cords and not cut properly. The pre-dinner salad only had 15 to 16 spinach leaves. The Chinese prawns and shrimp were dry and overcooked. I feel sorry for our waiter, Derek, who seemed genuinely trying but couldn't make up for the poor quality of the meal. Despite our disappointment, we did not complain verbally and still tried to enjoy our dinner. View all feedback.
Great food, drinks and service. Resturant is a little out dated but overall great Resturant. Menu hasnât changed and prices are reasonable. Bathrooms seem to have a little sewer problem but nothing too bad.
I come here once a year and this year this restaurant seems to be struggling. They had maybe 4 or 5 tables on Sunday (Fathers day). This place used to be a jazzy joint, it seems a bit dilapidated now. The smell inside the restaurant and ambiance is rundown. The service is long as you might only have two people working. Sad to see this place going down.
The food was disappointing not the standard that we have had there before.
We are locals who tried Dizzâs for the first time! The ambiance reminded me of an old speak east⦠nothing fancy but quite unique. The starter with the vermouth and pate was a nice, quaint surprise! I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and my hubby ordered the duck! Both were uniquely prepared and tasty! The service was very good I forgot the young manâs name)! We will definitely be back. The only downside was the parking. We circled around Coast Highway to to three times looking for a spot with a reasonable walk. We almost canceled the reservation and came home but we were finally lucky enough to find one of the three spots in the back of the restaurant. We will definitely take the trolley next time.
Great greeting with pate and small glass of Vermouth. Service pleasant and helpful. Food was delicious. Funky entrance and atmosphere add to the perennial charm.
