Found Le Diplodocus purely by chance wandering round Le Havre waiting for ferry back to Portsmouth. What a find!! Friendly service and excellent food. I liked particularly 'Les Escargots'. Very garlicky but delicious. Would recommend it to anyone at any time.
We visited this lovely small restaurant on a rainy Wednesday evening. We weren't really sure what to expect and the menu was in French and we aren't the best French speakers but the owner was very accommodating and helpful and with two young children in tow made it very easy. We had the set menu and for 18 Euros had 3 courses plus a coffee and the children were presented with sweets at the end. I had the sausage with fries and my wife had salmon with rice. The children had chicken in a lovely mushroom sauce with fires. A very tasty meal indeed, cosy and friendly atmosphere and excellent value for money. Would seek out if ever in Le Havre again.
We have been to this restaurant many times for lunch and never been disappointed. For 15 Euro you have a correct 3 course menu. We normally have just 2 courses, half a liter of ok open wine (BIB) and a cup of coffee at the end of the meal, and we walk out - 3 people - paying 50 Euro in total. The restaurant has a number of regular business people coming for lunch and only approx. 35 seatings, so it is good idea to reserve your table in advance. Service is nice and speedy.
We had a menu du jour here before catching the ferry back to England. It was a perfect choice. The décor is simple, elegant and clean. The service was excellent and the food delicious and inexpensive. We will definitely go again.
We went to this restaurant yesterday evening based on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Hidden in a back street close to the Hotel de Ville - the restaurant has a charming little enclosed garden - and as the weather was fine this is where we chose our table. This is a restaurant for anybody looking for good honest French cooking at very reasonable prices. We chose the Menu at 22 Euros and were not disappointed. The portions were very large and the food very good. The service was excellent. We really would recommend this restaurant - absolutely fantastic value.
