What Mark Mokone doesn't like about L'Ecume des Mers:
it is the only beach restaurant that looks inside like a real restaurant. curtains, carpets, etc. eating is average and comes slowly despite the first customers. hot, fresh, but not properly made and without creativity. service was very pleasant, but slow. Like...with the other extended summer beach restaurants on the promenade, the prospects are exceptional. View all feedback.
It's the only beach restaurant that on the inside looks like a real restaurant. Curtains, carpets etc. Food is average and arrives slowly despite being one of the first customers. Hot, fresh but done not-right and without creativity. Service was very pleasant but slow. As with the other extended summer beach restaurants on the promenade, the views are exceptional.

As part of Le Havre's set of temporary restaurants on the beach, we stopped here after a nice walk along the promenade on a beautiful evening. If you don't reserve, get there 'early' (as a Brit, this is not normally a problem :) ), as the atmosphere ramps up with the quantity of customers later in the evening. The service was very good and attentive, and the food of high quality and plentiful. The mussels were very good, and the 'Menu' was quite an economical and filling way to eat - for example, a small beer, a huge dish of mussels and a gourmet ice cream filled me up nicely! All the people in the party (3 adults + 2 children) had a very enjoyable meal, and the children's menu was of the same high (and fresh) quality as the adults.
