We ate here a couple of times when I had family stay with me in the Blue Mountains over the Christmas holidays and really enjoyed the experience. The Alex has a lovely and well maintained beer garden and cosy interior dining sections. The menu is...extensive, and has something for everyone, but all the meals I saw looked delicious so clearly on top of their game. My family said they were very stretched during the bus... What Carole Dickens doesn't like about Alexandra Hotel:
The food was terrible. The steaks were undercooked, so we sent them back three times before deciding to give up. The burgers were overcooked. We ended up having to go to Woolworths to find something to eat. There was no manager present at the restaurant. View all feedback.
The hotel was recommended by reception at our hotel. Warm welcome great food log fire. We ate in the bar but there is a bistro. Reasonably priced and huge servings. Old fashioned pub don't expect city glitz but honest !!
We had lunch at Alexandra Hotel. The pub is very charming and old and the waiter who greeted us was very polite. However we waited an hour for our meal. When asked about the progress of our meal the waitress was very rude to me, I also heard her being rude to several other customers. I would not go there again
We arrived at the Alexandra hotel for lunch after a long car ride and looking for a decent pub meal. It was excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive. My husband said his pepper sauce was "spectacular", the best he has ever had, and he is somewhat of a connoisseur of pepper sauce!! The meals were huge, delicious and well presented. The kids meals came with a lovely, kid friendly salad which is often missing from pub and restaurant children's meals. We tried to book for dinner the following 2 nights (fri and sat) but they were sadly booked out.
Dined here with friends and three small children. All the meals were lovely and each of them (including the kids meals) came with a good selection of vegetables. Had the sticky date pudding for dessert and it is probably the best I have tasted.
Visited this hotel for dinner with our two children, passing through on a trip home. Meals were really great, and we especially appreciated the attentive, friendly service provided to us by Nicholas. He was fantastic. Lovely environment and ambience. Family friendly and a very enjoyable visit overall.... thank you!
