Having lived in FL for the last 26 years and having the freshest seafood available as well as some of the most premier sushi restaurants, this was just as wonderful as any of them! Combination B with 2 Spicy Tuna Rolls was a wonderful way to go! Seating was quick, our waitress was prompt, professional and very friendly. The sushi chefs avoided certain fish we didn't like by our waitress! The presentation was graceful... View all feedback.
Excellent!. I had just about given up on Japanese cuisine in our area. It seems they all cut corners, cut proper service, and have cheapened the food beyond belief. However, Asuka in Hamburg gets it right! Our Chef, Joey, prepared a meal with care. He did not clang and bang the tools to much, and he had a new trick I had not seen before-bubbling onion. My scallops were perfect, the sushi was fresh and tasty, and the rice and vegetables were cooked just right, and with seasoning as well. The wait staff, including those not working our table, all took genuine interest in our needs. That is how you do it!! Many of the Japanese restaurants in Fayette and Madison county have become a huge disappointment. We will be back and we will bring our friends! Thank You Asuka!
I was impressed with the variety of grilled meat combinations on the menu, including steak, chicken, scallops, and shrimp, all cooked on the grill and served with either garlic or teriyaki sauce. I tried the teriyaki sauce this time, but next time I'll probably try the garlic as the teriyaki was a bit sweet for my taste. The portions were generous. One thing I appreciated was that they serve soup and salad with every meal, even with the sushi rolls, which is different from other places I've been to where they come separately. I ordered gyoza, chicken and shrimp, and a lychee martini, all of which were delicious. The shrimp in particular were firm and flavorful, unlike some other places where they taste bland. I will definitely be coming back to Asuka, but I might consider ordering smaller portions next time as the entrees are quite large.
We had a wonderful time at Asuka in Hamburg. The ambiance, food, and service were all excellent. The tempura and scallops we ordered were delicious, and the portions were generous.
As of December 2016, I had another positive experience at this restaurant with high-quality sushi rolls and steak frites. I prefer this location over the one at Brannon Crossing due to its extremely clean, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, and well-prepared meals. The standout dishes for me were the shrimp and vegetable tempura, with a perfectly thin crust that allowed the flavors of the shrimp and vegetables to shine, and the teppanyaki steak served with fried rice. I also tried the yakitori (grilled chicken), which was tasty despite being slightly overcooked. While there may be better sushi options in Lexington, I found the sushi rolls at Asuka's to be enjoyable. I tried the tuna, Philly, surf and turf (eel, asparagus, and avocado with seared steak), and the Smokey Bear (fried salmon and avocado with smoked salmon). My only complaints were that the steak was a bit tough and the smoked salmon was too strong. Despite the high prices, I still have many reasons to return to this restaurant.
After living in Florida for the last 26 years and experiencing some of the best seafood and sushi restaurants, I can confidently say that this place is on par with the best of them! I ordered combination B with 2 spicy tuna rolls and it was delicious. The service was quick, our waitress was attentive, professional, and friendly. The Sushi Chef even made sure to avoid using certain fish that we didn't like. The presentation of the food was graceful and elegant. The dessert was a simple yet refreshing way to end the meal. Overall, this is definitely a place worth returning to.
