This bar/ restaurant has reopend after being one of the best known brasseries in Libourne. It is now very smart and rather upmarket, however it is very friendly and quite affordable. On Sundays there is a set menu which is outstanding value. Best of all is the extensive range of wines but without the usual abusive mark ups. This place is going to go up and up. Dont miss it. What User doesn't like about Grand Cafe de L'Orient:
From the main street of Libourne this is the most visible place to eat. But honestly, don't go here. It's the worst service and attitude we've had in France. Awful. I'm amazed places like this restaurant stay financially viable. On a positive note, we ended up walking a bit further and found La Fontana, which was a delight. View all feedback.

We don't have dinners, but cocktails. the mojito was very good. the place is on a large square that makes it cozy. the ambiente was also good. So the service was.
I ate here tonight. looked outside under deck on a warm, beautiful night in libourne. perfect place with place francois mitterand in background with water feature. service was impeccable and friendly from our waitress. ordered fish and chips that were cooked exactly correctly. Unfortunately, the...steak was over boiled and full of dim and not to eat. kellnerin completely understanding, spoke to the owner who has not charged us for the meal and offered us a meal. great atmosphere and service staff. it is worth visiting.
When we came to freedom, we went to the first lunch in the brasserie l' orient. we were sitting inside for a very hot day, although we had a lot of shadows outside they were all taken. our server was hugo that I can honestly say...was the hardest employee should be a good one at the place. we had completed the 20 € menu of the day, the economical in cream fish and chips with pineapple and pineapple sorbet. it was all very tasty, especially the economical. would highly recommend.
We had a very nice Sunday lunch here. The food was excellent, well cooked, nicely presented and more than enough. Melon and ham starters for all. Beef skewers and trout for mains. Dame Blanche foe dessert. The setting is great for people watching and generally...relaxing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all a pleasant lunch and enjoyed by all.
