For us its hard to visit Limoges without taking the opportunity to pop into Amphitryon for lunch. Once again we were not disappointed and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the very pleasant ambiance of this treasured restaurant. As always the staff were really attentive and helpful. View all feedback.
We opted for thé ‘menu des halles’ (not available in the weekend , a 3 course meal and a glass of a white and a red wine (both available per glass . We were warmly welcomed, escaping the pouring rain and a ‘amuse’ (a spoonful of kiwi soup excellent(, followed swiftly as did the white wine. The starters were a millefeuille and slowly cooked smoked salmon, both a delight. Main course was (for both a ‘supreme de volaille’ never had a juicier preparation. The desserts: a range of mouthwatering ice flavours (home made! for the choosing. We paid 34€/person for the meal (in our view Michelin start quality for a bistro price and reasonable 8 and 10€ for the wine. We will be back soon! Super price/quality and very attentive service.
Excellent French food. Very special menu. Food was amazing and service was excellent. Definitely recommended when in Limoges.
A chance finding which greatly pleased. A fine dining room and lovely attentive service.A good wine list not too expensive [well not compared to some places!].tThe cheapest menu of 23€ was our choice and it was indeed good. The main course was a nice merlu. I doubt you could do better!
Set in the beautiful old part of town is this classic french restaurant. For 23 euros for 2 courses (28 euros for 3 courses) we chose from 2 etherial starters, either beef parmentier with truffle oil or a tartare of duck with a poached egg. Flavours that left your taste buds overflowing with sensation. Then either a suptuous piece of veal with chanterelles or filet de lieu noir with caramilised endive and an emulsion of cauliflower. You can't speak. Just savour. Then when you think it can't get any better they produce a orange tart with pastry that is as perfect as only a sure footed chef can be.Great coffee and petit fours all at an unbelievable price. You think you've died and gone to heaven!
Very well received by excellent staff. Very good and fine traditional fresh French cooking accompanied by a good wine list. Plenty of space and more privacy than you would find in most restaurants. Nice and friendly staff but I have not found the time to check their English language capacities.
