What Genesis Nikolaus doesn't like about Crabby Joe's Tap & Grill:
Will not return, food sucked. Boyfriend had mediocre wings and fries. I had a Caesar salad and garlic bread, they managed to make that unenjoyable. Salad was bland and dry, garlic bread was dry buns with the tiniest cheese bit on top. So dry and tasteless. I took 2 bites and didn't eat anymore and yet they charged me for it even though I stated how bad it was and that I didn't want to pay for it. Oh well they are up... View all feedback.
Always love stopping at Crabby Joe's on my way back to Hamilton from Niagara Falls! They're open late, which is great, and have a wide variety of choices for any budget (steak, burgers, pastas, stirfry's, and half price apps everyday after 9pm). They even have some gluten free and vegetarian items (which my sister enjoys) on their menu, and will accommodate if they can.We usually try to plan our trip and go after 9pm for the half price apps, and have always received great service for the few times we have been there. We love the wings and burgers, and when we've been during lunch time, their sandwiches have been excellent (seriously, try the chicken proscuitto sandwich)! Food always comes out in a reasonable amount of time even when they've been busy, and I've never had to ask for a refill on my soft drink, they just show up with a fresh one :)If you're looking for fine dining in wine country, then this isn't the place for you...but if you're looking for a place you can sit back, relax, maybe catch a game and enjoy the great food and a ton of options (for adults and children alike), then this is the place for you. I'll definitely be returning.Special mention to the kitchen staff for the great food, as well as Rania, Rawan and Jessica who have all been our servers!
My husband and I stopped by on a recent Friday night for dinner, and we were not impressed by the food. Service was good: we were greeted and seated promptly, and our server was really friendly. Unfortunately, the food was lacking for the price. My husband had a pasta dish for almost $20, and it was bland and had very little meat. My fish was dull and the vegetables seemed like they were cooked from frozen: limp and soggy. My reisiling was served in a stemless glass, not ideal for a wine that should be chilled. For the price point, the food should be better. I wouldn't go again; there are better independent restaurants in Beamsville and area at similar prices. Definitely not worth it.
Crabby Joe's is becoming the type of restaurants I would like to visit now. My second time in this place and just because of the server-bar tender, Roe,. I would write pages of good reviews. Honestly the only place I found this kind of proficiency was here and Mile Stone. Food was great. Service beyond awesome and the bartender remembered my drink and was in less than a minute. I was in my way to the states and stopped by for a drink, I end up spending couple hours there. A great stop over if you traveling to the states. Totally recommended.
I can count on one hand the amount of times I have eaten at this establishment as the food always disappoints and the last time was truly the last. It was late night family meal after high school graduation ceremony and no other venue was serving food at the hour. 2 of us ordered fish and chips presuming that it usually a safe bet and hard to screw up. The fish was cold in the middle; tough, old batter and when we turned the fillets over dark brown grease spots had formed where grease pooled. The fries were not even eatable. Uneaten meals were removed from the bill and server was apologetic but no manager came by to discuss the problem.

I suggest neighbourhood pizza or butcher and banker, both are yummy.
