Extraordinarily good John Dorry fish and excellent octopus salad and grilled shrimp . Our group of 5 was very impressed by food quality and service. Great view from covered outside tables. View all feedback.
What suzmannikki doesn't like about 5 Oceanos:
Totally rude and Uni retested staff. We almost had to beg for service. I had a piece of rubber( oh squid). With 2 small boiled potatoes, and most raw broccoli… that’s it. Absolutely diabolical. And this cost me €29!!! !!! What a rip off. My recommendation .. DONT go. There is no ambience. The other restaurants were full. This one was almost empty. View all feedback.
Paying a premium for the location as the food was definitely not as good as can get elsewhere. Upselling the breads/olives/meats to start is common in this area and they did mention relative costs for all they brought to table. It’s not nice to see the same plate of meat then be passed after several rejections from table to table…not appetising in the least. Best thing we ate by far was the starter traditional clams. They have been best around and the most meaty. Was off to a great start. But then the fish served to my husband was as underwhelming as it was dry and over cooked. A fish restaurant should NEVER overcook fish. We should have sent it back as along with the broccoli and potatoes was not worth the premium. Broccoli was cooked well however, but with one slice of carrot beneath we weren’t sure if an accident or under portioned….the Cataplana was alright. Nothing to write home about, but not a patch on others had in area. And altogether was rather expensive for what it was. Service was professional but not very warm. We dislike also a wine choice being given and served when the waiter knows what you are looking at and the price range. It was an ok wine, but when almost doubles in price I believe you should be informed upfront. I don’t really like being asked how much gratuity you want to add when the bill comes. Not had that in any establishment in Lisbon and Cascais before. Normally the better the place, the less they are likely to mention it, but you tip more because it was better and shouldn’t be discussed. If I could redo last night I would have paid the €16 each way for an Uber and headed to Lota da Esquina in Cascais instead. It would have been about the same in price and we would have been blown away by what the same dishes really should have been.
Fantastic food- I ordered the salmon and pear salad that was outstanding! and my family ordered other variations of salmon, and the fish covered in salt and baked in the oven Service was excellent and venue was great! We loved it
Visitem!
