Churrasqueira O Abade - Lisboa

Went in for a quick lunch bite and were bitten by the bulldog owner who turned out to be a right let down, poor attitude, thought we were tourists and he could make it up as he went along. Menu at €8,50 was advertised in the window and on the menu so we ordered from The Menu at €8,50 please loud and clear. For two that would mean a grand total of €17,00 by my wonky maths skills. Bill duly arrived for 23 euros, to which we questioned. Poor waitress had not paid attention so was here original fault, but when we told the owner, he just said No with his grim face. Then no again. Telling him calmly we had had two menus, we had asked for two menus. But you had a butter he grumbled unhelpfully, referring to one of those little baby plastic butter containers. As if that would raise the price up by six euros! Can 't have a menu if you have had butter he went on in his own special way. Eventually got 1.5 euros knocked off as he did a bit of special applied maths in his head and made up a new total for us. Sad thing is it was decent value for money, if a little ordinary. Would NOT RECOMMEND because of the surly, unhelpful and uncaring attitude of the owner, however. Give it a swerve. There are plenty of other places in the vicinity. To the owner, we hope you feel more predisposed towards your clients in future, otherwise it might be better to consider a career two or three sizeable steps away from the service industry. .

It is simple (not fancy , and represents very well the traditional tasca portuguesa . Good pricing and fast serving. I recommend. (Careful with the Alentejan Pork it is spicy!

Either meat or fish, this is a medium restaurant. Service at the same level. Don't expect good wines too
