Ate here twice in our 5 night visit, mains in a handwritten piece of paper, we both had sea bream which came with potatoes and salad. We had the bread and olives also half a litre of house red wine, bottle of water, 2 desserts and 2 coffees. Fish was really good. Came to less than 35 euros. Staff friendly but don't speak much English. View all feedback.
What KKKK2810 doesn't like about Parreirinha Do Rato:
Stumbled in this place attracted by cousine oddors. Place was crowded and we waited for at least 20 minutes for waitress just to notice us. Another 10 minutes for the wine and 15 more minutes for the food. Wine is too sweet for me, food is fine, but in my opinion, 28.5 € is a bit too much for 0.5 L of wine, two portions of sardines and some bread and olives. View all feedback.

I love places like this! They are not on the main streets for most of the tourist to find and spoil! The lovely waitress, Dena (I think I have your name right was very helpful and full of good fun! The restaurant was hidden behind the main road in Largo do Rato. A hidden gem! So good as you can get away from most people for an hour or two! The food, typical Portuguese and very nice! The Polvo was excellent as was the caramel dessert. Probably one of the best caramel dessert in so far I have had in Lisboa! Certainly worth trying and not walking past the unassuming entrance!
As expected , quality and simplicity ! a place more and more visited by turists but still mantains it´s identity !
This is an old favourite. Not having disappeared or been gentrified, I am in two minds wether I should attract any further attention to the wretched place. Barbecue or whatever stuff happens to be the “dish of the day” smoke? Yes. Salty, greasy dishes that will warm up your 7 souls and have you connect with a long line of bon-vivant ancestors? Yes. Enjoying your food while enjoying the sights of good-looking Gott-Behütte-Uns local tradesmen or stray bourgeoisie representatives just equally sexy)? Yes. in short: one of the last really authentic places surviving in centric Lisbon. Getting into this backyard will in itself earn you the admiration of your guests Should you be in a generous mood and share this address with your most intimate mates). Well, this unique place for trying the Portuguese home dishes in a traditional before-the -tourists- took-over) environment like it or hate it) couldn’t be assessed at less than the full star score. I hope you’ll enjoy it and I wish you health to digest the food and sublimate the undescribable house wine into divine gossip with friend-s) or deep philosophical considerations in case your Portuguese is not up to let you enjoy your neighbours’ conversation-and you’re sitting there lonely as the moon). Για σας!
We order pork cutlets, grilled fish and octopus, two beers and two coffees $34. Everything was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go there again. My tip: never eat olives, cheese and/or bread when they offer to you at the restaurant most of the time it cost as an entree.
