Contribute FeedbackI guess it was just serendipitous that my rumbling stomach and wandering brought me to this establishment. We had dropped off our luggage at an AirBnb and were frantically running around searching for lunch options (on Google Reviews) before being overtaken by hunger. Just when we were about to give up, after dejectedly turning away from a number of other establishments that didn't really seem to fit the bill, we saw a fairly bustling, unassuming neighborhood eatery that appeared to be popular with the local crowd. The server didn't speak (any) English, but with the help of some charade-like gesturing, we managed to secure a seat outside. It took a while to actually see the menu, which we then had to translate with our phones, but looking at what was being brought out to others' tables, it seemed promising and we were in high hopes. Between the fumes of smoke wafting over from the table beside ours, we finally placed our order and sat back to wait for the feast. It was really a pleasant surprise! The food was quite delicious, and had this home-style quality to it that made it feel down-to-earth. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, so much so that we trekked back the next day for a second round! We sat inside and the server actually did speak English very well. We were not disappointed that time either, save for the unavailability of a specific item from the menu of the day, but I suppose that gives us some reason to look forward to coming back some day. It is no exaggeration to state that this restaurant was the highlight of our dining experience in Lisbon. You should definitely give it a try if you're in the area and looking for an authentic, no-frills meal.
Very busy. Go after 9.30 as quieter. We went at 6.45 and queued for ages. Don’t order 2 soft shelled crabs. We were sharing among 3 and it was too much.
