My brother and I had a fantastic experience on Thanksgiving Day in 2017 at the Castle Rock Restaurant! My brother ordered the traditional Thanksgiving meal and I opted for half of the Cobb salad. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff at this restaurant were friendly, respectful, and one of the servers even shared the story of this wonderful place with us. What Alena W doesn't like about Castle Rock:
Castle Rock is a strange restaurant. I always wondered why I had never been there before, and now I know. The interior is a mix of a convalescent home and a sports bar. The food was mediocre. The service was decent. I was craving a Bloody Mary and a substantial breakfast, so I ordered the Irish Benedict. It wasn't great, but it was filling. My kids both had corn dogs and fries. I tried some of their fries, and they t... View all feedback.
The first time we tried this place, loved everything about it. highly recommended
Okay, good things about this restaurant: No waiting Clean bathroom..which is something commendable! Nice server..let's give him a credit! Nick Huge place and lots of empty tables to choose from But yeah, food is meh, the clam chowder was pretty good But the Chicken Marsala Avocado burger we ordered wasn't that great. We're here on a Friday night and place is almost empty except from the couple tables that have actual people sitting by it and people at the bar. The bar grill next door called Rock House is probably something I'd like to try the next time I'm in this area.
Second visit and so far so good. This is not a 5 star fancy restuarant but rather a very cozy place to eat with reliable food. Invited by a neighbor who is a regular for the Taco Tuesday Specials that turned out to be super yummy, but was extra surprised that they had live music (on a Tuesday). Music started about 7:30pm. Seems like everywhere we go in Livermore lately is overcrowded and loud. It's really nice to find a place that's not so crowded; a little cozier with good food.
We went here to wait for someone who was shopping in the nearby outlet mall. We first went to the sports bar adjacent to castle rock restaurant. It was expectedly crowded, Warrior game was about to start. So we walked next door to Castle Rock. Just before walking in I pulled up the yelp page and saw that it had received about a 2.5 star average review so I wasn't expecting much, but I was hungry so we gave it a shot. I liken it to going to the movies and your first choice movie is sold out so you go to the movie that fits your time spot, without really expecting much. OMG! This was a fantastic meal. I've gone no carbs so I wasn't sure what I could eat. Ran into a special where I got a deal on a 12 oz. ribeye dinner. The meal came with bake potato, a salad and veggies. I passed in the potato and doubled up on the steamed vegetables. My companions had chicken strips and shrimp scampi. All were really good as was the service by Noe. It turned out to be a great place to watch the game as well with several large screen TVs on the game. What an outrageous and unexpectedly pleasant surprise! I would definitely come back!!
I stopped while driving through town looking for a place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The bar was busy, loud, and I didnt want that so I picked one of the regular tables. Unfortunately, I felt forgotten there as most of the focus was at the bar and then outside seating right outside the bar. I didn't know what to expect when I stopped so the prices were shocking. I decided on the Cobb salad and it was okay, nothing I couldn't get anywhere else or even fix at home. For being almost 2p, they didnt have any soup yet. I should have just found a Dennys.
