What Shyann Bartell doesn't like about Simla Authentic Indian Cuisine:
avoid them. we tried this restaurant with a groupon for $29. it was really unpleasant. the waiter was abrasiw. the three cursor meal did not come with rice. the curries lacked seasoning. we ordered a medium and a mild and both were completely missing every taste depth. the only redemption feature was the naan. spinat and cheese were good, that was the only reason why this was not a 1 star experience. we will not be b... I would like like to thank chef... the food was so delicious. I have ordered kadai chicken and I loved it very much. I recommend other people to go and order kadai chicken.Thank you soo much.
The worst Indian restaurant I have ever been.Food was way over priced for the quality. The bread are the tiniest I have ever seen. The leather on chairs are pealing off, stick on my pants.I have to ask twice to get a water refill. The salad bar at corner is disgusting! The water seems...Btw, the waitress didn't provide me a receipt.
It sounds that we have not much luck as Diana had. Explored this restaurant for Sunday lunch and it was my Veggie day. Told the waitress that we would only order vegetarian dishes and she refused to change our entrée from Tandoori platter to Vegetarian platter because it was set for Groupon deal. However, instead of promising to change from a higher value $17.90 Tandoori Platter to a lower value $14.00 vegetarian platter , the waitress was so generous to offer us a bowl of rice $3.00 for compensation! I wish they could have the wise business mind as the Gateway India at Springwood; reasonable change to the offer is the way to make a good impression to your business. Foodwise, taste of the Vegetable korma and the Palak Paneer was average but the portions were mean. Dessert of Mango Kulfi was good but is should be described as parfait instead of "Yoghurt based Indian drink" which was misleading...
We visited this restaurant two weeks ago. The food was great. It was very tasty. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant doesn't look very nice though. Some of the chair covers (white cloth) were a bit stained. But it was good and clean enough for an ordinary dining. We loved the food!
My partner and I had purchased a Groupon deal for this restaurant. It includes a tandoori main platter, 2 main curries, as well a dessert each. Ambiance (A) Restaurant was rather dim as lighting was mainly from the windows. Tables and chairs were a little dirty. Not much of a relaxing environment as it was dark and dirty. Food and Beverage (FB) ''Entree'' Upon looking at the menu and pricing, we noticed that prices for entrees and mains were rather expensive. (As seen on the menu). The tandoori platter entree was served first and as seen in the picture, it was really disappointing. With merely a few different pieces of meat, sauce, and 2 slices of cucumber. Supposedly at a price of $16.50 or so, it was a big let down. On top of that, it would be safe to say that the meat was probably left overs from the night before as we could hear constant use of microwaves. ''Mains'' Chicken Mango and Prawn Madras Firstly, the menu price of these two curries were $15.90 and $17.90 (shown different on Zomato). Anyways, there was a decent amount of chicken and prawn pieces. Portion overall was rather small. Taste wise, Chicken Mango was sweet as its name; decent. However, the Prawn Madras actually did taste sweet as if the same curry was used for both mains. We found the mains to be rather plain and perhaps had expected at least some vege in curry but that's up to the restaurant management. "Dessert" Mango Kulfi and Gulab Jamun Desserts are known to be sweet, and these two desserts were definitely sweet. A little too sweet for our liking. The mango ice cream was delicious and the Gulab Jamun was microwaved. ''Others''We had to order rice and naan bread separately as it was not included in the deal. They were good, no criticism on that. Service (S) Waitress was kind enough to had let us use the Groupon Voucher without first making a booking. She was also attentive and efficient. Props to her. Waiter that had taken our order was polite and patient. OVERALL A : 1.5/5 F&B : 1.5/5 S : 4/5 FEEDBACK : Food quality and standards should be established. Service was good but a restaurant will only succeed on how good their food can be. Environment wise, needs to be cleaned and better lighting.
