It was going all very well until we ordered amaro Averna which is an after dinner digestivo and they brought us an extremity tiny quantity, never saw before such a tiny quantity, but the price was the same as if it was a bigger one.. we were 8 people and they could have either give it for free or made us pay less ...because it was the last drops of the digestivo.. end of a bottle. Artigiano is a local Italian restaurant which we always enjoy. There is a good range of fish, which is what we normally choose, and the staff are always very pleasant and not in your face. What we like most of all is that you can speak to the people on your table without having to shout as the noise level is very acceptable . It seems that this restaurant has closed suddenly since last week. The furniture has been removed. I spoke to a local who mentioned that many businesses on Belsize Terrace are struggling due to the high rents.
I came here on Thursday night while visiting London, I asked for the gold, which was exceptional with an excellent combination of flavors and presentation. The level of food was matched and a very high level of service, especially by the manager, who was able to offer an excellent combination of food wine when I asked for a recommendation. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to eat here again. Also coffee is great!
We just love this Italian. The food is top notch, staff are friendly and it has a good atmosphere, especially on a Friday night.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, but the service can be a bit brusque at times, with old customers being treated like strangers. However, if you can overlook the occasional rudeness, the food is often superb.
We went totally by chance on a our first night of a short break in London. Didn’t know what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised when the food arrived! Tried the crab risotto, veal with asparagus and a pasta dish. All were excellent! Will try to go again if in the area.
