I've had this spot on my waiting list for a long time, not sure why it took me so long. Really relaxing atmosphere, attentive and efficient service. I went for the octopus salad as a starter. The octopus was properly cooked and the salad quite fresh. For the mains we had calamari steak and stuffed calamari and both really good. The overall taste was like home made food which I really appreciated. Will be back again View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kalamari Greek:
Went went for my mothers 90th . Had the set menu . The first and second course we're fine but the last course was not the meat was dry and tasteless. As for the service .... Not once did they ask if all was ok and as for getting drinks we constantly had to ask not vey impressed for a first visit and with 17 of us and to top it off they added an extra £50 on the bill which was not a service charge ... We had a wonderful lunch at Kalamari for my husband's birthday for 15 people a few days ago. We've never felt more welcomed and totally spoilt by the owner and his lovely daughter. Our family are a mixture of meat eaters Vegetarians and Vegan and they catered for everyone! The food and wine was excellent and the atmosphere brilliant. It was a truly happy great day. So thank you so very much for looking after us on such a special occasion. I so recommend this long established family run restaurant and can't wait to return! Gaby and James xxxx
Fantastic food … great selection… cooked to perfection ! I pass by the restaurant all the time but today I stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed !
We happened to be in the area, and we booked this restaurant based on the relatively good reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived at 8 pm and the restaurant was empty. We were the only people in the restaurant. Very courteous welcome by the waiter and were given a table and the menus. Suddenly, out of the blue, the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to our table with a bottle of wine and was going to unscrew it ! I immediately stopped him and told him twice we had not ordered any wine. He then looked aggressive, started mumbling something about us (probably swearing), and stormed away from the table. We were both flabbergasted, and never experienced anything of the sort in our lives. The two waiters at the restaurant did not look surprised at all. I asked them whether we did anything wrong for the chef/owner to act in this way, and they both told not to bother about him. It seems they had seen such an incident before. Based on this shocking incident, we decided to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere. Be warned and beware. I am sure this is a scam and we would have had to pay for the bottle of wine had we not immediately stopped the chef/owner from opening the bottle.
Another great meal at Kalamari in Chiswick. The most authentic Greek cuisine in London. We had a full tour of the menu moussaka, chicken souvla, lamb chops, kleftiko, sea bass and every dish was a winner. And then the boss, Eddie, capped things off with a huge plate of fresh watermelon! Always enjoy coming here and look forward to the next time. Highly recommended.
Beautiful restaurant with the most friendly service and the food was delicious, worth travelling too
