My prawn noodles soup was okay, my friend’s beef brisket noodles was nice. Staff were in a rush clearing out the table as soon as they saw we put down the chopsticks, kinda urged us to pay quickly by bringing the bill and pay machine right away though, and asked us to pay the added service charges without properly informing or giving options. What Tiffany Edwards doesn't like about Old Town 97:
HANGS UP ON AN CUSTOMER CALLING ABOUT ORDER Just received my order on Jinn (the delivery service) One of the items on my order was Preserved Egg (located in the congee section), which in my point on view was a congee with preserved egg, however i received my order on time and i discovered that this item was just 1 PIECE OF PRESERVED EGG for £6.40. So i rung them up asking politely, the lady who answered the phone ans... View all feedback.
So it was a good experience. they have 2 days and the seating arrangement is in order, but what I impressed was their service. they were as fast as a minute when I ordered to eat and looked down to check my phone and there he lay with my eating all the table. I mean, it was really fast. eating was good overall and well tasted, I will recommend it as an attempt. I love the speed man astonishingly going well.
This restaurant is almost always packed. they have a great selection on their menu. their ho fun Malaysian style noodles is a lot to recommend.
I have found a lot of positive reviews for the old town 97, the year was significant as the end of the British manor in hongkong. we had a late lunch there before a Saturday not too long. they have a big lunch deal – £4.80 for a dish of rice or noodles with a free bowl of their daily suppe. we have fun for the char siu on fried hor that came out, the quite simple, but turned out to have a few well fried hor fun with a generic asian brown sauce and some pretty well cut char siu. a little chili oil (excellent wine) and it was a great dinner. the accompanying soup (poor bone, carrot and tomato) was a bonus. I wanted to try a court that I had only heard online – “LSE fan” (or “LSE rice”, about £9.50); the story goes that the court was either invented or made famous by an LSE student. on our asking our waiter told us that it was
Hmm I will not go too much about the ambiente of the place, because I have no attention to it. the main advantage of this place is the fact that it is open until 4 a.m. and if they like to eat after the start (who does not? they want to come here. If you are like me and kebabs hate to appreciate only good food, this place is for you. we have starved after a moderate night. we all went for the duck, rice and some noodles (I think it was the special shanghai noodles. we didn't expect much, but the fact that the place was packed (at 2:30 o'clock in the morning let us believe it can't be too bad. the food arrived quickly and it was really good! the waiter shredded the escape before us, and everything else came very fast after. we have inhaled the eating and pointed out that this is the highlight of the night. not sure that I would go during the day, but for foods that go out like a good meal after that, the definitiw is a place to go!
One of my favourite restaurants in Chinatown. I have visited Old Town numerous times and each time their food is very consistent, delicious as well as sizeable portions. It has a very good menu with some interesting, different dishes (the Szechuan tripe is excellent) as well as the usual staples, which are all very tasty. The portions are large (perhaps even too large) but great for sharing. A few people have complained about rude service I have been here several times and never witnessed it. The service is swift and polite if a little terse but that fits in perfectly with the cafe type atmosphere; it's not a fine dining restaurant where the waiters fawn over you! This place offers everything you would expect from a good Chinatown restaurant and is a very reliable option.
