What an amazing meal! We visited London to celebrate our anniversary and were super excited to see a vegan tasting menu in the heart of the city. 8 courses and 2 very full bellies later, we can wholeheartedly say this is a must-try dining experience. Hope we get to come back again next time we visit! We were especially blown away by the ways they make beets sing in the canapé and celeriac dishes, the smoked carrot pu... View all feedback.
What Anna Dosch doesn't like about Pied A Terre:
Old fashioned decor, gloomy. Why the fake flowers? The service was good and frienldy, prices pretty eye-watering, cheapest bootle about £80. Our Frnch friends didnt want it because of the price. The menu confusing and the food didn't justify the price. Why is the loo upstairs? All needs a good makeover. All very disappointing View all feedback.
I tried Life Bistro out for the first time yesterday. I ordered the sweet and sour oyster mushrooms and a couple of other items. I did an online order for pick up (no dine in). My main reason for not being satisfied is that the oyster mushrooms were not fresh. They tasted like I was eating mainly batter and I really couldn't taste the mushroom. I'm not sure if the sauce that comes with these is sweet chilli sauce. I just know I asked for a side of sweet chili sauce(which I paid extra for) and that was the only sauce I had in my bag. Shame on me for not pulling out all of the contents in my bag and thoroughly inspecting. I should've taken a photo to include in this review.
Lovely lunch experience in this Michelin star restaurant
It’s the kind of place where you bring your date and make sure nothing would go wrong.
I always go to Mechelin Star restaurants and have to say that the Pied a Terre has convinced me the least. The dishes were prepared with little finesse and not very taste-intensive. Too bad I also found that the associated wines were not very well explained. I like it if the the sommelier can tell something about the wine, but that was only limited in the Pied a Terre case. The service was also, unfortunately, only moderate. Towards the end we were chased through the corridors and it was already cleared around us while we were still at dessert. Admittedly, we arrived quite late 8.30 on the website, however, is described that one can come to 9 . I'm really sorry, but I can't recommend the Pied a Terre.
Just come from a tasting menu dinner at Pied a Terre. Frankly very disappointed. 2 of the 7 courses of the vegetarian tasting menu were quite inedible. One so salty that everyone left it, and a stuffed tomato full of bland and mushy rice which I couldn’t bear to eat. The matched wine with the over salty Jerusalem artichoke was thin and acidic to the point of undrinkable and the Riesling was entirely overpowered by the (admittedly delicious) lime sorbet though they forgot to serve the promised Greek yogurt part of the dish to the non vegans on the table. Not worth to £200+ per person we paid for a tasting menu with matched wine. To be honest, I am rather surprised that they hold a Michelin star given the mediocre food and experience.
