Despite a warm welcome and festive atmosphere, service quickly deteriorated with poor quality food on Mother's Day. Starters were disappointing, with microwaved meals and ungenerous portions. Overpriced at £75 for two adults and two kids, the experience left much to be desired. A Friday night visit saw service struggles, delays, and incorrect orders, despite a lovely and spacious ambiance. Mediocre food was accompanied by a confusing bar experience. Overall, the restaurant showed potential if service improved. A mix of highs and lows awaits diners in this cozy locale.
We had a reservation confirmed for 12:30 today for lunch, but when we arrived we were informed that they were fully booked and turned us away.
I took my wife and children for lunch on mothers day. It started really well with a warm welcome and what seemed like a nice atmosphere. Service also started with a smile but it really did go wrong after that. The service was rushed a quite frankly the food was awful. Starters were very poor and quite bland, my wife's roast dinner tasted microwaved with poor quality meat. My food was ok but not generous in portion size. My son received a cheese burger with in a brown roll...we were told bit was a healthy option and the other kids meal looked microwaved. We had the bill put on our table before we were even asked for dessert not that we would have eaten it. The pleasure of this awful experience cost £75 for lunch 2 adults and 2 children all in with one alcoholic drink. Overpriced is an understatement. The restaurant was not even half full so struggle with how it was so poor overall. Nandos less than 5 mins away would have been half the price and better in every way. That says it all.
When we visited, the restaurant was very quiet and somewhat lonely, but the service was friendly and the food was delicious.
On a Friday night, we visited a restaurant where there was only one waitress. She seemed to be struggling with providing prompt service, as we had to wait for about 10 minutes before receiving the food menus after being handed the wine menus. There were also various delays with our food order and the bill, and our order was incorrect a few times. Additionally, the barman was unfamiliar with what a Macchiato was, confusing it with a Mocha Latte. Despite these service issues, the restaurant's ambiance was lovely and spacious. I would consider returning in the future if the service improved. The food itself was decent, neither exceptional nor disappointing.
We have a confirmed reservation for 12.30 today for lunch and arrived ti that they were fully booked and turned away.
