This place has been around for 15+ years for a reason, consistent food, simple menu, good service. So much outdoor seating, tons. Can be very busy on weekends, especially for brunch crowd. BLTA, still a crowd favorite. No parking area, street only. Recommended. View all feedback.
We discovered this place by happenstance when we use to visit Blueprint for their sales back in the day. The vibe is up my alley, not pretentious, staff are terrific, they have game. Drip coffee is the best in LA. Drop the mic.
Owner of the cafe, he is so kind, staff so kind and banana cake is perfect
I very much looked forward to this restaurant for breakfast last Sunday while visiting in Los Angeles. However, the atmosphere, service, and food did not live up to the hype that I received about it. The restaurant was packed inside and out with people, indicating it's popularity in this LA community. However, the menu was rather limited and the food was good but I would not say excellent. The wait staff service was atrocious however. The the staff was not friendly and engaging. Initially, I thought that our waitress may have been overburdened with the number of people at the restaurant. However in asking one or two other staff for items we received the same kind of cold shoulder and non-friendly responses. It's always possible to hit a restaurant on a bad day and I will give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt for that fact. Therefore, I will not recommend or not recommend this restaurant. As a member in the top 10% of reviewers anyone who has read my numerous reviews over the past few years knows that I am a very kind reviewer and not prone to negative reviews.
Kings Road Cafe undoubtedly serves the best coffee I have ever tasted. I find it difficult to leave this place, but when I do, I make sure to take some of their coffee beans with me. Apart from the exceptional coffee, make sure to also try their mouth-watering food and wide selection of beers. An added bonus is their new sourdough breads and Bagels, made from a yeast 'Mother' that is over 40 years old. And don't forget to indulge in their delicious new Banana Chocolate bread.
The omlettes are SO GOOD! Definitely recommend them! The French toast was regular : overall super filling and delicious! Loved the experience and price was okay too!
