Super fun atmosphere, excellent service. You have to try the Hot Brown. It is excellent, but very rich; it is perfect to share with someone and get a second dish. It's too rich to eat a whole thing, but it's a must to try. Get some room for the Derby Milkshake. Plan to split again, but bring your own straws to flimsy to suck it when you take your shake on the street. View all feedback.
What Kayden Powlowski doesn't like about Lynn's Paradise Cafe:
Hot Brown was a bland hot mess. Totally disgusting! I could make it better at home with kraft cheese singles! The Pecan encrusted chicken served with A Frozen Brick of burnt mac cheese was also bland. The chicken was way undersized for the price. As far as I am concerned I think they need to concentrate more so on the quality and the taste of the food rather the uniqueness of the place. View all feedback.
I am a big fan of Lynn 's, since it is practically a Louisville landmark. I appreciate the imaginative decor inside and out, the gift shop, and whole experience. And when the kitchen is on, their food is unbeatable. Of course the breakfast is phenomenal, and I am a huge fan of the catfish and the fried chicken for lunch or dinner. My main issue is this: sometimes when I go, I just wear a t-shirt and jeans and things seem to go fine. When I go from work and I am dressed corporate, it seems I have to beg for service. Mind you, this is not all of the time, but this has happened to me on multiple occasions, including my last visit. It seems if I had more tattoos or muti-colored hair, I might do better. The thing is, I am all for people doing their own thing and letting the freak flag fly, but it feels like high school in reverse with some of the servers carrying out their own judgments based on appearances. Boo.
The Cafe has been a favorite of mine for over ten yearsWowI can't believe I just said that.
Overall: A hidden gem in the outskirts of town, "The Cafe" is a humble, delicious, and unique experience to enjoy Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch at. The good: The
Man! This place is pretty under the radar for young adults like meKinda hard to find, but not far from downtown though.
WOW! That was a fantastic experience! It wasn't too awful busy when we left, but we had made a reservation to be on the safe side. I got the Bourbon Ball French Toast, who was delicious and enough breakfast for two people, easy (My husband and 13 year old daughter had to finish it for me). My husband got the Matador who was also delicious. The little children got pancakes from the children's menu and insisted on giving me a bite. It was really the best pancake I ever had crispy outside and was fluffy on the inside. Wow! And our waitress was super nice!
