Big Red's Family Restaurant - Lunenburg

Great location, great view. A real small town restaurant with no pretensions. Relaxing and friendly service. And did I mention the view? Had the chowder which came with roll and crackers. Very filling for a lunch. Dessert was a cookie to go. The only less positive comment was that the menu posted outside made it look like a pizza only restaurant. Poor colour choices and other foods not highlighted well. So ended up solo as the others 'did not want pizza '

Stopped by today. Heist mad Eve 2019 to pick up a pizza, Garlic fingers and an order of Lose Hamburg and chips for my wife The lose Hamburg and chips has not been on the menu for some time now but they have always accommodated us and made it After all it’s not Rocket science They have Hamburg , they offer it as a topping on pizza, they have fries What they don’t have is an owner with a sense of decency toward customer relations So I ordered a squeeze 16 a round 26 of Garlic fingers and a one peace fish and chips $74 dollars and change Not cheap by any means I found the attitude of the manager unbelievable I would not recommend anyone coming to Lunenburg to patronize this restaurant When I complained that we had always ordered and received this dish because my wife does not like pizza the owner simply replied that they were closing in around a year like she didn’t t care they were only going to be around for a while I thought to myself Good the faster you go the faster somebody else can rent this space for whatever purpose My grand daughters wanted big reds pizza for Christmas Eve Other than that I would have walked out Actually after the last three pizzas I got from here I likely never would have walked back in

We had had lunch near Peggy's Cove, and it was too early for dinner, so we stopped by Big Red's while we were exploring the stunning town of Lunenburg for dessert and coffee. The views from the window tables are gorgeous, and they have a nice selection on their menu. We settled for Carrot Cake. Carrots are healthy, aren't they? And so delicious in a cake. We enjoyed our stop, and had more energy to keep on exploring.

Located in Old Town Lunenburg on the water front, this building used to be an old jailhouse . You have a nice view of the boats. Food however is another matter. We tried lobster bun which had lots of mayo and very little lobster.

Had the lobster bun.there wasn't enough lobster on the bun to even taste.tasted like mayo on a bun.fries and beer were good
