It was my second time in Madrid and I was looking forward to going back to LeCafe which I discovered by chance on my first visit. Loved everything about it; décor, food, service, the fact that locals frequent it, always a good sign. What FIN2world doesn't like about Lecafe:
We had the menu del dia, which was excellent value for money (we couldn't believe the wine and coffee was included in that price). Clientele was mostly local business people but we receive good service partly in english. Especially the menestre soup for starter was packed with flavour and enough crunchyness. We liked the main courses somewhat less but still for sure good local food for a good price and we would certa... View all feedback.
The food is really good, great mediterranean dishes. It has a daily menu that has a very reasonable price, especially for the quality of the food.

We enjoyed it so much that we even told her that we will be writing this review. Came back the second time before leaving Madrid. It is worth a walk. It is also located in a prestigious, residential area of Madrid, Salamanca. The menu is not huge but everything on it is delicious. As others mentioned it is located on a small street Calle de Recoletos.

We booked dinner at LeCafe and were not disappointed. Really tasty food. I had the veal steak which was so tender it melted in the mouth. My husband's veal fillet had gristle running through it so half of it was inedible. We pointed this out to the waiter but I think our remarks got lost in translation, but they did ask him if he wanted something else. Overall, a really great night out with lovely food and wine and with the restalo discount, very reasonably priced.
We arrived early (by Madrid standards) at about 9:00 p.m. and the chef was not even in yet. Despite that, we were made to feel very welcome and were seated, given drinks and potato chips to snack on. Once the chef arrived, we had some delicious starters of Iberico ham as well as ciabatta bread with olive oil and crushed tomatoes. This was followed by the Solomillo, which was a nice-sized portion of filet cooked to perfection and served over cubed potatoes and pumpkin with a delicious sauce. I could have had this every night and been happy! Also, if you are a beer drinker, do not miss trying the La Loca Juana...locally made in Madrid and fantastic!
