SO...what makes food and the people who enjoy it so great? Food is not simply stuff that people eat when they're hungry. Food is awesome, delicious, inventive, colorful, inspiring, and so much more. A mutual love of food can bring different people together and can make the saddest person feel a little better without even meaning to. I love food and think you should too. View all feedback.
What Jane Leow doesn't like about Baba Charlie Cafe:
Didn 't dine in as was a little crowded due to prime time. Managed to buy nyonya delicacies as there were a varieties of them and snacks. Quiet a small place as tables, chairs are conjested with the shelves of products displayed and paying counter. As a tourist, one can hardly have space to breathe and enjoy the 'shopping '. I recently tried the baba nyonya styled kuih delicacies at Baba Charlie for the first time and it was a heavenly experience. This place offers a variety of traditional nyonya kuih as well as an ala carte lunch menu. I was particularly impressed with their range of kuih and the boxed chicken curry nasi lemak was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. They also offer a home stay option for those interested.
This restaurant is highly rated by many, but I personally believe it is better suited for quick meals with small families due to its size. While it may not be amazing, it is still worth visiting if you are in the area.
Baba Charlie Cafe is a well-known restaurant in Melaka that specializes in traditional nyonya kuih and desserts. The nyonya kuih are freshly made each day using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. Some of the must-try items include ondeh-ondeh, kuih lapis, kuih kochi, and kuih dadar. In addition to their kuih, they also offer a variety of nyonya and other local dishes such as laksa, nasi lemak, popiah, and curry puffs. The cafe's warm and inviting atmosphere, along with its friendly staff, has made it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
Most of the bad reviews here are for their food, but baba Charlie is famous for their nonya kueh, and from my experience this is as good as it gets. They sell a wide variety of kueh and are very reasonably priced. Each type is sold one by one if you want to mix and match, or in packs if you want to bulk-buy your favourite. Definitely worth a visit, and I would ignore all the negative reviews if you just want to buy nonya kueh.
Baba Charlie Cafe is a great place to visit for those who love Nyonya kuih. The cafe has a wide variety of kuih available, and there is also a dine-in area. The Nyonya fried noodle and Nyonya Laksa are highly recommended, and the onen onen is an absolute must-try. Pie tee, a great snack for Nyonya crave lovers, it 's crispy outside and is mouth watering inside. The food is delicious and satisfying, and the prices are reasonable. The only downside is that the place can be quite crowded during peak hours. Overall, a great place to visit for some authentic Nyonya cuisine.
