What User dislikes about Outlook At The Cottage In The Wood:
Staff seemed to be in training and forgot our water and wine several times. The food was very pretty but tasteless and poorly cooked, although the puddings were very nice. Very expensive for what we received. View all feedback.
On the 3rd of October 2023 my wife had booked lunch for us at The Cottage in the Wood and I was blown away. The view was nothing but stunning! The staff were friendly and the manager seemed very knowledgeable about what wine should go with our five course tasting menu. All the menu items (not just the five course) seemed very nice but as it was my birthday we went with the five course tasting. Each and every dish was great! The food was top of the line and we both couldn’t have asked for better tasting food. For the price of £55 each we thought it was great value after tasting the food. We can’t comment on staying at the hotel but they are the only hotel approved my employer Cisco so it must be good. We visited the restaurant and had the 10 course tasting menu. The food was absolutely incredible. Some of the best food I’ve tasted. Price was reasonable for what you get. Would recommend.
Paid a lot of money for our room, nice room but certainly not £297 per nights worth. Beautiful location, food and staff were amazing. We will visit again but find a cheaper room. Enjoyed a lovely relaxed anniversary meal with a wonderful view. The service was excellent, especially Calem who was very attentive. Booked a room so we could enjoy a drink, however although the room was nice with a lovely view and well appointed I didn't think it represented the best value for money compared with other similar hotels.
