We recently dined here to celebrate a special birthday. The restaurant came highly recommended and we weren't disappointed. We had the degustation menu and, although not cheap, it was one of the best meals we have tasted anywhere. We can't wait to go back. View all feedback.
What Roselyn Rau doesn't like about Appellation at The Louise:
Beautiful venue, interesting menu but during the second course I found a live worm in my food. They were nice enough to replace the course and give the meal to me free of charge. But this is the last thing I'd expect in such a well known restaurant. View all feedback.
We ate 2 nights in a row to celebrate my 60th. We have eaten at some of the top restaurants around the world and rate this as one of the best. We had the degustation both nights with paired wines. Chefs, waiters and sommelier were...outstanding. Professional but friendly. The vibe of the restaurant and hotel is relaxed but first class. Bravo and thank you. We look forward to the next time.
An excellent multi-course tasting with lots of variety, right distance and "just right" serve portioning. matching local weine well chosen. tables beautifully spaced and located to offer something for each diner. comes to a price, but worth the investment.
The appeal tour was amazing. especially appreciated gary, our guide. he was very informative and helpful. he made the day so much more fun.
This restaurant promises a lot and almost everything, but at our visit at least the experience was abandoned by some disappointments. the pros: really interesting and inventive menu, which usually manage to be delicious as well. my partner has some food restrictions and the...kitchen have some of the courses subtlely modified to include them without affecting the court in any way probably the best answer we have ever experienced. elegant dining room with high quality crockery and riedel glassware. the cons: the portion sizes were quite small I am not one of those people who usually complain about not enough to eat in a devastating menu, but here I could imagine many people who remained unsatisfied. also for me, two of the five courses were not so delicious, which was disappointing as the rest was sensational. the most important contact: I know that the restaurants go through personal questions, post pandemic, but the lack of a sommelier in the night, we really went the experience. the waiting staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about food courses, but could not provide any help with the extensive wine list. we were left by the flounder and tried to make uninformed decisions that we usually made, but one of the glasses we chose was really unsuitable for the meal, which means we ordered an alternative immediately. the waiting staff could not have been less interested in our mistake, but this is probably not her job. A pity that no one on the floor did the job of sommelier. in a restaurant this calliber this is a disappointing outlet and seriously reduced, which would otherwise have been a 5-star experience.
We sung here in the louise during our slumber week. we had the revealing and premium wine pairing that were both delicious. the only thing that could be improved here is a bit more training for the personal. the young lady who served us. tried her absolute best, but screamed what the food was on our teller to us so that all turned to us in the restaurant (honestly it was quite funny as she was sweet but my goodness). the Sommelier/Wein pair was not excessively engaged and did not seem excessively enthusiastic about our presence. can only be a little shy.
