We were strolling through Centre Place and came across this quaint dining room. Taking a seat on the alley we enjoyed fresh grilled wraps. I tried the Tandoori chicken and my friend the pulled lamb - both were fabulous and generous serves. A glass of wine with our lunch was a nice thing to do before heading back to explore the streets of Melbourne. If I had room I would have liked to try the assortment of sweet cakes... What User doesn't like about Cafe Vicolino:
In an area swarming with food options this one is fairly good but doesn't stand out from the pack. Service quick and very cosy in winter. Coffee just average though. Glad we tried it but will keep trying new options before giving it another go. View all feedback.

Lovely atmosphere, good smooth coffee (just a tad too bitter for our tastes though), and awesome sticky date and salted caramel macadamia cheesecake! I'm told by my friend that the almond milk they use is nice too.
Not at Cafe Vicolino - on a work lunch break you do not want to wait 10-15 minutes to get served, let alone wait for your coffee and meal. And when you are working hard, and often stressed, I really look forward to a meal as a brief moment of enjoyment and satisfaction. And while I am wary of 'food-court cheap' I don't want to feel I'm paying too much for the owners Porsche either. So good news busy citizen and visitors to Melbourne. Cafe Vicolino breaks the old adage that the best you can get is two out of three with Speed, Quality & Value - because my experience is that I keep coming back and getting all three. What has it been like for me? I sit, a menu appears in moments (with a smile) coffee order taken, and then coffee appears before I've had time to wonder when it's coming. Brilliant. And in a town famous for it's coffee - my Piccolo Latte is spot on. Strong, but not bitter, milk a perfect 65 degrees. I order the omelette with chorizo - and optional gluten free toast instead of sourdough. It lands, light, fluffy with the funky chorizo giving it a lively flavour. The GF toast is is great, not some doughy cheapie, and properly toasted all the way through. Enough change from a twenty for another coffee later that afternoon.Speaking of twenty - that's my approx. time as well - back to work, happy customer.
