Degani Bakery Cafe - Melbourne

I didn't get a chance to even eat here as the customer service was just non existent. I wanted to order do not as everywhere at crown was so busy and with a starving toddler we just had to eat somewhere. We decided upon Degani and wow never again. After choosing our orders I walked up to the counter and asked for a bruschetta, the lady at the counter then asked me to point it out to her twice on the menu as she couldn't understand what I was asking. She then just left the register and I kid you not left me standing there for 2-3 minutes? Comes back and says sorry we can't do that. No other explanation, I then ask if I can have the mains then, she walks off again then someone else serves me, I ask again, the response I got was "I'm sorry I'm not sure how to ahhhh say it"??? I ask well is the kitchen closed? She says "no the kitchen is open"....so what's the problem? She looks at this other person who looks at me and just says ummm no. Lolllllll I'm sorry was I not talking English? Did I step into the twilight zone, why is everyone not comprehending what I'm asking!!! Anyhow, I told them to forget it and walked out. Worst customer service.....

We called in at Degani Bakery Cafe for a coffee this morning and were very disappointed. It was a long wait but it held promise with lots of Crown employees getting their coffee. Alas after a long wait we then watched 4 crown employees say they were busy this morning so they jumped the queue. I get looking after your locals but after a long wait already this is not very nice. Perhaps they are not interested in the tourist trade. After all that the coffee was poor anyway.

If I could rate it 0 Absolutely horrific , burnt mushroom, burnt hash brown , disgusting , uncooked eggs need to call health check here !!!!

Having eaten at other Degani cafes and always enjoyed good food and service, we were bitterly disappointed with Degani Crown. The staff were unfriendly almost to the point of being rude. We ordered eggs for breakfast and it was deplorable. One slice of cold toast, two cold poached eggs that were covered in olive oil which I think was to try and hide the overpowering taste of vinegar. The bacon was also cold and like cardboard. One star for a reasonable coffee, but honestly, there are plenty of other options in the area that you would be well advised to eat at. If Deganis is a franchise, this cafe is seriously going to damage their brand.

Nothing better than calling into my local Degani Cafe at Coburg Hill for breakfast and coffee to start my day. Food always top notch and nice coffee great all day menu.
