Visited ramen ya for a quick bite and wasn't disappointed.Ramen was flavourful with a beautifully tender piece of chashu pork on top.My only complaint would be that there wasn't enough in the bowl as I could have at least done with some more noodles but overall it was an nice experience. It's important in the restaurant industry make the clients happy and when the kitchen forget something nothing better than appologise but the young never been training to do the offer of one tee or a drink will go down well , but nothing to do with food it's not a real Japanese I will say a little JapaneseChinese all together I think lost of identity !! The Gyoza are not nice, lack the authentic taste and have an unusual herb or filler in them. The Ramen soup is tasteless and also lacks in authenticity. I don't always expect to get the level of quality you get in Japan for these dishes but there are better Ramen and Gyoza options in Melbourne
After arriving from a trip to Tokyo, I immediately went Ramen-hunting around the Melbourne CBD. Ramen Ya at the Emporium gave me the exact taste I was looking for.
I decided to have a quick lunch before going to work and thought of having a ramen. The usual ramen place I go to is closed during Sunday so I found this ramen shop at Emporium and decided to order a Char Shu ramen which is my favourite. The place was alright but a little bit crowded with tables and chairs which I find it difficult for customers to walk in between but they maintain it clean. So my order was arrive, it only take 5 mins waiting. I was surprised when I saw my Char Shu ramen, the meat is missing instead they replaced it with gyoza. My excitement was turn into disappointment. I feel like I was eating an ordinary noodle soup. The taste was bland and it seems like they put something to make it look like a miso soup. I wish they could’ve bought meat at Coles instead of replacing it with gyoza. It is not worth it to spend $15 for a crappy food. Two thumbs down for this. Not even the wait staff given me a heads up for this.
