I love going here for lunch, when I can get in. It's popular, and for good reason. The variety of sushi dishes is superb and they taste amazing. The staff are attentive and helpful, and it's easy to spend as little or as much as you like. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sakura Kaiten:
Have been to several sushi trains and this one had food on it I have never had which was great. Variety was good and you can order from the tablet which is served in good time. The black sesame was delicious. Had to look at the bill twice when it came out - $50 for 7 dishes which I thought was pretty expensive compared to other sushi train places I had been to. OMG! If I could eat here EVERY SINGLE DAY I would! The service is great and so is the ambiance. One can choose to sit around the sushi train or at smaller high top tables. There is an extensive menu of cooked food and assorted special orders available whether you are sitting at the high top table or the sushi train. If you are sitting at the sushi train all extra orders including hot food and beverages are taken via an iPad. This is very convenient because each couple of seats have an iPad to order from. The sushi train is smaller and therefore during lunch time you may have to wait for a seat but it is completely worth it. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is perfect. They usually have subtle music playing and all the staff are always smiling and very helpful. A big bonus to this particular sushi train is that all of the dishes are specifically marked with a sign in front of them, so you know exactly what you are picking up off of the train. The train is smaller than most but I believe this is what adds to the fact that the sushi is always very fresh. The prices are reasonable and the quality of sushi has yet to disappoint. If you love a good sushi train I would highly recommend this place!
Worst sushi train experience ever :( cold old food on the train and expensive for what it is. Tasted like micro waved soft shell crab reheated from the train when we ordered it through the auto order service. The first one off the train was stone cold.

I stopped by for dinner at the Sakura Kaiten restaurant during a recent business trip to Melbourne. I asked to be seated at the main counter with the sushi train but the restaurant was crowded so they asked me to take a side table. At first I was a bit disappointed but it turned out to be much better. The restaurant has a small iPad mini at your table with all of the selections of sashimi, nigiri sushi, hot food and sushi rolls at your fingertips. So it was easy to order exactly what I wanted without having to wait for it to come by me on the plate train. I had several combinations of the sushi and the sashimi, all were very good. The service was quick and clean. A good experience. I will return in the future.
It's been quite a while since we'd eaten at a Sushi train restaurant so our quick lunch today was a trip down memory lane. The range of dishes travelling past us was impressive and you could order other, hot, items using a tablet. We enjoyed our six little plates of food. The salmon sashimi was particularly delicious as was a bowl of octopus balls. Price was reasonable but beware of ordering too many plates. All those interesting and colourful plates of food coming round makes you feel tempted to go over board with ordering.
