What Furio Esposito doesn't like about The Deck:
They have a nice view, with a wide variety of wine to choose from and the service is really good, however, their food is simply not worth the price you pay for and their menu is very limited and confusing. They should try having a set menu instead, perhaps with the choice of pairing wine and the food. I think that would offer a better value for money. This restaurant has a relaxing cozy ambience and the waiters are friendly. Nice to see complimentary bread which went so well with the olive oil balsamic vinegar dip. Our first course was grilled calamari it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was peppery and delicious. We had mains of the seafood squid ink linguine and rockling fillet. The linguine was very tasty, full of flavour and generous in serving. Unfortunately for the rockling, it was slightly overcooked and I didn't think the puree went well with the sauce. Overall, the menu featured Australian or Italian style dishes , so I will definitely return for the pasta!
Great little place for a quick pre-show meal, or a leisurely one if you have the time. The eating area is quite open to the Southgate Shopping Centre, so getting a table further inside is best. The food is delicious and the service is quick. Nice place.
Service and Food View awesome spot! Food was beautiful and flavoursome. Service was excellent, attentive, conversational! View from outside area was perfect for a romantic date! Cost- We had 3 starters, 1 main, 2 desserts, 4 drinks total of $190.
Discovered The Deck through the MFWF Express Lunch and we're so glad we did. My house smoked ocean trout was delicious and the special I chose was confit duck leg sensational. My companions who ordered the minute steak weren't impressed but enjoyed their entres of terrine and pannacotta. I look forward to a return visit. Lovely service makes it a pleasure.
Nice ambience. Staff great food good quality. Been a few times and is reliable. Had both the pre theatre n al carte menu no variance on quality.
