They have a nice view, with a wide variety of wine to choose from and the service is really good, however, their food is simply not worth the price you pay for and their menu is very limited and confusing. They should try having a set menu instead, perhaps with the choice of pairing wine and the food. I think that would offer a better value for money. A lovely little restaurant with views over the Yarra and Southbank, The Deck is a great spot for an afternoon glass of wine, some delicious brunch or a tasty dinner. As part of the Southgate complex, it's easy to find; and it gets really busy on weekends.<br/ <br/ With lovely service, and a friendly atmosphere; we often pop in here for a drink after visiting the art precinct. In Summer it's amazing sitting out on the deck in the sun, watching the people go by below. Whether it's for a romantic dinner, or a catch up with a group of friends, the Deck is a really pleasant venue to visit.
This restaurant has a relaxing cozy ambience and the waiters are friendly. Nice to see complimentary bread which went so well with the olive oil balsamic vinegar dip. Our first course was grilled calamari it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was peppery and delicious. We had mains of the seafood squid ink linguine and rockling fillet. The linguine was very tasty, full of flavour and generous in serving. Unfortunately for the rockling, it was slightly overcooked and I didn't think the puree went well with the sauce. Overall, the menu featured Australian or Italian style dishes , so I will definitely return for the pasta!
Great little place for a quick pre-show meal, or a leisurely one if you have the time. The eating area is quite open to the Southgate Shopping Centre, so getting a table further inside is best. The food is delicious and the service is quick. Nice place.
Service and Food View awesome spot! Food was beautiful and flavoursome. Service was excellent, attentive, conversational! View from outside area was perfect for a romantic date! Cost- We had 3 starters, 1 main, 2 desserts, 4 drinks total of $190.
The food coming off the pass here is exceptional, and well worthy of your hard earned, but you'll need plenty of it. The Deck is anything but a cheap night out, but the memories you'll have will stay with you. The Deck comes highly recommended at around $60 for 2 courses a side or two :
