What User doesn't like about The George:
After the National Synchronised Swimming Championships this restaurant was booked with upfront chosen meals.It wasn't really spectacular and it wasn't bad either but not a restaurant we will go back to, sorry.The steak was a bit tough, the cheese cake was not the best I ever had and the mud cake was dry. Highly recommend, kind and caring staff and yummy food. I am a regular costumer and highly recommend the breakfast special. $14 for Melbournes best cooked breakfast with a beverage of your choice.
Early dinner resulted in me having one of the best steaks I've had in awhile. Juicy, tender and cooked perfectly!! I totally recommend going on a Wednesday night, we went early, I can imagine later you might be waiting for a seat. It's that good!
Service good! Food excellent! Between the three of us we dined on lamb cutlets, cooked to perfection, Moroccon chicken wrap with salad and chips (just loved the flavor) and duck risotto. All tummys happy! Wine list good. Selection easy and priced well!
Nice uncomplicated dishes for a classic pub dinner. They have regular specials (like Burger nights). Not sure why it is quite empty most of teh time.
Great staff! We arrived late, kitchen was closed but they still offered a limited menu. Staff were fun, friendly and engaging! Thanks to barman "T" who made our experience memorable ????
