What Ludwig Trantow doesn't like about Toto's Pizza House:
You are only getting one because I can't give you zero. Rubbish service and poor attitude. Ordered pizza and pasta our friends finished their pizza and we still don't have our pasta. They need to teach their waiters some basic courtesy and customer service techniques. Saying the kitchen is being hammered is not an excuse. Getting four meals for four people on the table at the one time is service 101! Happy to discuss... View all feedback.
Not only is this the first pizza house in Australia, (opening in 1961) but it is also the best. Every time I eat here I want to eat more pizza. The staff are excellent and you can get a great bottle of wine as well.
I always visit Totos when I stay in Melbourne. Its the first pizza house in Australia and has been there since 1961 I think and it was awarded membership of the World Pizza Hall of Fame. The staff always look after me and the pizzas are really great and excellently prepared. I love Totos.
The restaurant boasts an interesting décor that clearly signifies its Italian roots. Situated at the end of the Italian restaurant strip near the junction with Queensberry Street, it is the last Italian eatery on the right as you head towards the city. It is said to be the first pizza house in Australia, but I decided to explore other options on the menu. The garlic bread was underwhelming, resembling a supermarket-bought foil-wrapped version that was slightly burnt and doughy. However, the pasta dishes were a different story. My son thoroughly enjoyed the tortellini alla romana, a delectable combination of bacon, spring onion, mushroom, and cream sauce. My ravioli all'amatriciana was tasty, although spicier than expected for an amatriciana sauce. The ravioli were delicious and the sauce was flavorful. The house red wine complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, the food was hearty and reasonably priced, and the service was efficient and friendly. Toto's receives full marks for a satisfying dining experience.

We have dined at this restaurant on previous visits to Melbourne. Located on Lygon Street, it is conveniently close to the city center. The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcomed. The service is excellent, with meals prepared quickly. The restaurant is licensed and offers a selection of cold beer and wine. The owners are fantastic. We love it here. Have a meal at this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
