Well ,eaten in many restaurants locally to Pathenay and this is the best. Food presentation far superior ,service first class. Price reasonable and well worth ever euro. Highly recommend . Bonus, beautiful lake view from restaurant and before after dinner/ lunch walk round woodland and lake. Top of my must go list whenever family over or just feel like being spoilt.
Perfect!we had the top menu which included drinks on arrival, water and wine. The children were very well accommodated for with a plate of cold meats and salad followed by steak hache and chips. We had amuse bouche followed by a fish course, I had the perch filled with a mousseline (classic perch dish), sorbet, fillet steak which was melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection, followed by cheese, dessert and coffee. The service was attentive and faultless despite it being a very full restaurant and the children were treated with such respect and humour. Just a perfect lunch!
We went with friends and chose the top menu, including aperos and amuse Bouché there were about seven or eight courses all served with wine. We took our time and had a lovely lunch. It's not something you could do every day as it is quite expensive, but well worth pushing the boat out on a special occasion.
This was our second attempt to have lunch here. First time my husband was sick and we had to cancel on the day and still pay for the meal. This time we tried again with friends and had booked 2 vegetarian meals. After the starter was served with fish for the Vegetarians we reminded them of the veggie bookings. So, the fish was just taken off the plate and only the bottom layer was served which was vegetable based The main meal arrived again with meat for the Vegetarians. Again, just the meat was removed from the plate and only the very meager sides were served, at full price, by the way. After complaining we were told they were not informed about the vegetarian booking b the person who accepted it and we were offered a glass to champagne no thanks, no for me) as compensation. The quality of the meal was very mediocre, the taste a far cry from what I call excellent but mind you, I only got a tiny omelette with some champignons and a cacker with a teaspoon full of cabbage with some spinach leafs. The view over the lake is nice but the room has more the atmosphere of a cheap Bistro. I will not return as we have too many really good restaurants in the area and this kind of quality I can get at a fraction of the price elsewhere.
