7 Chelsea fans travelling down to Munich. We were welcomed, fed, watered (well wined actually), and looked after very well - as the restaurants name suggests, the wine list was great, surpassed only by their cheeseboard. 60 euros a head incl wine and beer. View all feedback.
What Charles Garnier doesn't like about Le Bistrot des Sommeliers:
Excellent steak tartare. Service ok. Serveuse attentive et impliquée. J'ai été un peu déçu du dessert cependant... excellent vin même au pichet. Je recommanderai ce restaurant. View all feedback.
This place was recommended by lonely planet and they were on the money! The wine list was extensive and the staff and other diners were fun and friendly. The food was wholesome and hearty, and the fixed price menu a steal. Would definitely go back.
Recommended by hotel but we found our meal to be only average and wondered if it was, in fact, reheated from the lunch menu.
We actually went across the street to find another restaurant, but this one seemed appealing and we decided to go in. The waiter was so nice, going out of his way to "google translate" the ingredients we didn't recognise in French, and the food was amazing. Great French cuisine!
The blackboard menu is short and everything sounded enticingly wine-friendly. Our salmon tartare was beautifully balanced, very fresh and nicely dressed with chives. Our entrecotes were perfectly cooked, well seasoned, served with a delicious reduction sauce, a simple salad and fried potatoes (duck fat I think, or goose fat) and perfectly matched with the mid-priced Languedoc that we chose with advice from the sommelier.The wine list is extensive, with a wide price range. I think our sommelier was the proprietor, she was knowledgeable and spoke good English.
This restaurant is in the Michelin Guide as a good value place, but was not previously on Trip Advisor. We tried it as it was not far from our hotel near the Metz railway station. We had an excellent meal - all our courses were good, especially the help yourself cheese selection. There was a huge choice of wines at varying prices, and friendly, efficient service from a charming waitress with excellent English. We had a very enjoyable meal here.
