It was the first time for me to have dinner in a Peruan Restaurant. I don't know whether this is a true Peruan style, but what counts at the end is simply the taste, service and qualify of the food. And all was just perfect! A clear recommendation for everyone who is looking for some innovative and interesting dishes! View all feedback.
What Milo Walter doesn't like about Astrid & Gaston:
We waited 30 mins to get our drinks and decided to leave after realizing that "that" was only the beginning...You could tell that service was very slow that day but it's unacceptable in a place that prides itself from serving fine Peruvian food and in a city (and neighborhood!!) that is known for its high service standards. Strongly suggest management to address situation asap View all feedback.
This restaurant is owned by the most recognized Peruvian chef at this time: Gastón Acurio. It is a great place to experience Peruvian food with a creative gourmet touch. He uses all of the traditional Peruvian ingredients, but in very interesting combinations, with outstanding results. He also serves traditional Peruvian dishes like lomo saltado. The restaurant is elegant, great place to take clients or go with a date. Service is excellent, and they make a very nice Pisco Sour, in addition to a large variety of other cocktails. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful experience in this top Peruvian restaurant. We were with a big group and we shared so many beautiful dishes it is hard to summarize. The cebiches were perfect, but also the tuna dishes, for instance the one with star anise sauce, were absolute marvelous. I should not forget to mention the perfect fried shrimps. And everything is so beatifully served that you feel like in a Michelin star rated restaurant. A perfect place to sample a pisco sour, but also the pisco with maracuja juice was excellent. Although I am not too much a desert lover, this time was an exception, I liked all of them and some of them were very creative especially the pisco cream with mangistene fruit and the chocolate bomb that implodes after they put hot chocolate on it, my advice is stand ready with your video camera.
We had dinner here and the place is sensational. Great Ceviche, Octopus and wonderful fresh seafood. Service was great and the wine list extensive and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend.
The place is very modern and the food is to die for. The food is unique and has a modern touch. The waitress has good recommendations. Do not forget to live some space for the deserts.
Expectations are always higher for this type of restaurants and A&G do know how to deal with tough clientele! For food it does a very good job compared to the food currently served in top restaurants in Lima, Peru. But, it is missing a lot in elegance and presentation of food, still worth the bill you'll pay for the services and quality of food. I went for a top red wine, i.e. Kerubiel, and it was good but not as good as expectation. We all know, in the restaurant it's sold 3x the price on local wine shops, so between to go for a Casa Madero and no disappointments! I will indeed be back!
