As a lifelong Milwaukee resident who loves pizza I have to say this place has one of the top three pizzas in the area. Made on the spot, yeasted thin crust with a neutral marinara (not too acid) and a sprinkling of cornmeal baked into the bottom. It’s a top notch pizza. Fried eggplant and salads are great and appropriately sized for 2 or 3 people. Staff are long timers, friendly, and efficient without being intrusive... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tanino's Italian Amer:
I am from the east coast and have been to many Italian restaurants, but I have never been served a frozen packaged cannoli in my life. The pizza was okay, but not great. It needed more seasoning. I believe cannolis should only be sold if they are made fresh in a bakery. I was extremely disappointed when I got home and saw the dessert in our takeout bag. View all feedback.
Great eating and prices. great old fashion atmosphere. great service, especially janine!
I will never dine at this restaurant again. I ordered a Ribeye Sandwich and a Sautéed Mushroom appetizer, and was extremely disappointed with what I received. It seems like they have given up on quality. For those looking for good food, I would not recommend eating here. This place used to be great, but now it just seems like a place for drunk people to hang out.

This is a neighborhood joint with the bar up front making for a walk-through-the-bar-to-the-dining-room but it’s wonderful food that deserves it’s long standing customer base.
A lot has happened since our last visit and review of this favorite of ours. Strangely we only found this place after we moved out of the immediate area so our visits now are fewer and further between but for a small, family run pizza joint and bar it’s consistently delicious, the staff all seem to be long timers, and it’s like coming home every time we visit. The table spacing doesn’t seem much altered since COVID but tables were never crammed in — so it still feels comfortable. They open at 4:00 pm, so we usually visit shortly after opening and there’s never too many guests yet. They do a healthy carry out and delivery business for pizza for good reason. Their pizza is some of the best in Milwaukee and I’m a tough judge when it comes to thin crust, yeasted dough pies. In our opinion it’s among the top three in the Milwaukee area and I almost hate giving them that much praise because selfishly I'd be heartbroken if they ever got too popular and changed. I like that their prices are fair for the product and that means that the portions are more than adequate and not overly large and overpriced. Their appetizers are nice, but their deep fried eggplant is our favorite. The marinara is a bit on the bland side but still makes a nice accompaniment for the succulent flesh of the eggplant. This local place deserves it’s regular customers as it’s top notch.
