Contribute FeedbackThe Nicollet Island Inn offers a beautiful setting and excellent service, but falls short in some areas. While the historic ambiance is lovely, the outdated decor and lack of updates take away from the experience. The food quality is inconsistent, with some dishes being excellent while others leave much to be desired. The service can also be hit or miss, with instances of forgetfulness and mishaps. Overall, the restaurant has potential but may need significant improvements to reach its full glory. Despite some shortcomings, the beautiful holiday ambience and riverfront location make it a recommended spot for a special evening out.
As usual, we had a delightful meal (the salmon salad is superb), tasty wine, quiet table for good conversing, lovely view of the River. But the best part is the service: this time it was Ann, who is warm and helpful and kind and funny. While our experience with all the staff in the restaurant has been excellent, my friend and I are always pleased when we get a table in Ann's section; she's kind of the frosting on the cake of lunch.
Weekend Brunch is TERRIFIC!!! GREAT CORNED BEEF HASH (HOUSE MADE) WITH EGGS AND HASH BROWNS. RELAXED ATMOSPHERE. WHITE TABLE- CLOTHS, FRESH FLOWERS, PROFESSIONAL SERVERS, CRYSTAL CHANDELIERS, COZY BAR AND SO ON. OUTSIDE TERRACE DINING AS WELL. FREE PARKING.
Prices were high for the amount of food we got. Had to pay for bread and the filet was very small. Ceasar salad with shrimp was excellent however.
Such a pleasant experience for a birthday lunch; quiet, comfortable, fabulous service and good…. We just want to keep coming back!
The waiter was outstanding…the food was excellent…we really enjoyed our dinner and were so glad of our choice!
