Salmon Lodge Restaurant - Miramichi

I would recommend this restaurant for Fine Dining to anyone, but very very pricey, but the food is excellent, not as restaurant for a low income family, but the food is excellent, and if you are a couple on pension, you might be able to afford an excellent meal there now and then, all I have to say is, excellent food.

What a disappointing meal! We arrived at 6:30 pm and were served our meals at 8:25. When we questioned the wait to what appeared to be the manager at around 8pm, we were told that the kitchen only received our order at 7:30. so what did the waitress do with our order? Did she forget it somewhere? At 8:10, the waitress returned to our table to tell us that they were short a steak and someone would have to order something else....What? It took the kitchen that long to figure that out? The food is good, there's no doubt about it. But when I am spending about eighty dollars per person, I expect top notch service to accompany the experience. I will not return.

Of course, you have to expect a more expensive exit than in other places but it is worth the cost! My lobster bisque was great and my salmon was just as great. My husband took a surf and turf and his steak was cooked on charcoal. He loved it. the atmosphere and service are up to the height.

What makes this restaurant special is the location. It is out of the way and sitting along the Restigouche River in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Although I was sitting inside, in the restaurant’s main floor area which was very pleasant, I think the best seat in the house is along the screened-in porch facing the river that offers a very pleasant and peaceful view of the surroundings.Their specialty is sea food so I believe it is best to stick to that food choice as my friends that chose that really enjoyed their meal. Since I am not especially fond of sea food, I chose the New York steak and although it was good, I can’t say that it was above average to justify the cost of the meal. It was OK good but not more. I think the location and atmosphere made up for it and I really enjoyed my evening.The service was good and meals are prepared with attention. The restaurant has an old fashion and rustic vibe and it was clean and well maintained. Be prepared for your evening to make a serious dent in your savings! Aside from that, this was a truly enjoyable dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant and would return.

I have been there several time and am never disappointed. Wish it was open all year .the atmosphere is quaint and the food solidly prepared to please. Love sitting out in the screened in porch and'enjoy thencanoes going'by'and watching'fishermen hoping'tôcatch'àsalmon.,
