What Sam D dislikes about Sahara Restaurant:
The grilled meat seems to be made of meats of good quality; however, it was tasteless due to the lack of proper marinating. The kefta/kofta/kafta was overcooked and almost burnt. The vegetables and coleslaw were not fresh. However, the hummus and naan were both excellent. Be careful unlike most Canadian restaurants that serve healthy (and free) tap water, this restaurant serves only spring water for $2 a bottle (the... View all feedback.
Ordered a Zaahtar which was good but burnt at bottom and Meat Pie (Laham be ajeen) was way undercooked and uncooked and terrible at taste. How can they call themselves "Authentic" cuisine when they need to take basic food safety before someone gets really sick.I do not recommend this place sorry.
We were on the road and got off the 401. Found this place just because of the Arabic writing outside. We both love Middle Eastern cuisine and eat it frequently. This was amazing! Don't miss the Moutabal! Smoky flavored roasted eggplant with tahini... we were blown away. Ask the food was fresh, the service attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely stop here again!
I was in the plaza where the restaurant is for more than 10 minutes trying to find the restaurant! The place has a terrible location at a hidden corner of the plaza without any signs. It was almost empty in the evening when it should have been busy, which made me wonder. The food actually was good, and the place felt comfy. The outside look doesn't match the inside look at all.
I have been here more than a couple of times and have enjoyed the food we ordered. The dips are amazing especially the babaghanouj. Order takes a bit to arrive because it is made as you order. No WIFI. Something is missing in this place aside from WIFI. It feels dull inside. Maybe a friendly atmosphere.
Extended family breakfast was meh. The ambience and food were average. The flavors are traditional but the quality is mediocre. The servers could also be more enthusiastic and offer suggestions when asked. There are definitely better middle eastern joints out there.
