my wife and I are regular visitors to the oriental teahouse at Chadstone shopping centre, we are never disappointed the service is great the food is fantastic and fresh. The Peking duck pancakes are excellent as are all types of Dumplings fried or steamed, try the Calamari and octopus very tasty . While it is not cheap I can assure you the money you pay will be worth it we average $80 with a glass of wine each.Enjoy View all feedback.
What Nasir Cassin doesn't like about Oriental Teahouse Chadstone:
We had reserved a table for six people on Monday (Labour day holiday) for lunch - what a mistake. We were shown to our table and left to sit for 10 minutes, then one menu was put on the table and a few minutes later a waiter arrived and asked what we wanted. We said that with one menu all hadn't had a chance to look at it. After a while he had found a couple more menus and eventually we ordered. Then the wait began,... View all feedback.
This is now a regular destination for the tastiest dumplings around. Service is attentive and speedy. The food is varied and delicious with food wine and several teas to match. All round a great place to eat.
While on a well earned break my partner & I decided to go for Sunday yumcha one long weekend a few weeks ago. Struggling to find anywhere locally, we decided to give oriental tea house a go because we'd been there before during the week and the food was good.We were sat at 11.55am and told that the dumplings would start in 5 minutes. We ordered some tea and sat waiting, and 12pm on the dot food started emerging from the back.First we started with Peking duck pancakes which were delicate and flavour some. Up next was the crispy prawn toast, and some har gow which were steamed to perfection. Ginger & prawn dumplings followed, and a sticky beef which was so good we wanted more. The pork buns were fluffy, and the scallop dumplings were fresh and tasty. While not a cheap meal - it was $100 for the 2 of us including a small box of tea to take home, it was a nice treat.
We decided to try the Wednesday night $30 all-you-can-eat Yum Cha special and we were definitely not disappointed. We came in a little skeptical about whether it would really be all-you-can-eat so we were really impressed when the food kept coming & coming. We had all kinds of dumplings, pork buns, octopus, squid, rainbow beef, wontons, noodles, peking duck.. & then when I thought I could eat no more.. dessert started coming around!! One of the many awesome waiters even came around and asked if there was anything else we wanted.. & within minutes fresh chocolate dumplings were delivered to our table. I'll definitely be going back!!
The best dumplings in Melbourne...my favourite hands down was the duck spring rolls, they were AMAZING! We had so many dishes...each and every dish was sublime. Head outside of Chadstone and step into the Orient...you'll love it!
2.8/10, 30pp you can go to a proper restaurant. But unfortunately most of Chinese restaurants in Melb are having bad services.
