Le Grand Comptoir - Montréal

Near our hotel, mostly local business people, seemed like repeat customers. My sister and I wanted a less commercial experience, so we tried this place that we walked by everyday leaving our hotel. They have daily lunch and dinner specials. We opted for the lunch special $17.95 CA potato soup followed by boneless chicken stuffed with spinach/sun dried tomatoes/goat cheese with generous sides of spinach and salad. Very good. We noticed other diners dishes looked good and featured generous vegetable servings. Would recommend.

Nice little spot for a fairly traditional French bistro meal. I enjoyed the salade de chèvre chaud, and the tarte tatin was satisfying and not overly sweet. Excellent espresso as well.

Two of us on the terrace at lunch time. The only 55 minutes outside ! Reservation is recommended at lunch time. It's quick assuming menus are given to you. When you choice is made, based on our experience today. .. wave, make signs so that 3 minutes last 10. Food was good ( beef ) as well as a glass of wine. The superb weather would invite people to go.....after lunch.

Went in March. I took the host table. First the crecy potage, which was good. then the burgundy beef that was correct but nothing extraordinary. the salad that accompanied her bathed (literally) in a thick vinaigrette!!The service is courteous but not very '' friendly'.

23 yrs old but still good bistro food and warm service . Decor hasn' t changed - it could do with a refresher and a little more pleasant background music.
