lenbach is a gallery in a very pleasant room. it has changing exhibitions and in the constant collection many works of kandiski that cover various epochs of this painter. the place is very quiet, the visit can take place quietly. Besides there is a very nice restaurant. easy to walk from the city centre or by metro View all feedback.
What Anatoli Feldmann doesn't like about Lenbach:
sat there on a last Friday evening with good friends and greeted by an empty house. of the 50 or so were occupied the tables 3 which do not contribute to a lavish restaurant atmosphere. Well, eating that, not bad, not great a very. limited menu next to the sushi, which as a new yorker and fan of good sushi I can only say, they stay clear of it, it tasted just like catty sushi, tasteless rice and so, so fish. in fairn... During the Oktoberfest, I was planning to have a good evening dinner with my colleagues from a Fortune 500 company. We had booked well in advance, and the restaurant assured that they had taken into account that we were 10+ people. However they told as...that since we were so many, we had to all select the same menu items. Once we got there, we had been booked 2 tables at the opposite site of the restaurant, and the floor manager did not even want to negotiate for the possibility of seating us nearer to each other. The overall arrogance from the side of the restaurant was mind boggling. This is the worst service I have received in any restaurant, and mind you have traveled the world extensively.
We had read that Lenbach was a good place in Munich for food and atmosphere. Went on a Friday night and was most disappointed. The room is large and quite impressive. The food, though, was very average at fairly high prices and served very quickly...and in a pretty surly fashion by a grumpy Asian waiter. I had the mixed Asian specialities to start and some of the warm dishes were cold and the sushi had clearly been on the plate for some while. The main course was pretty similar the garnish of roasted tomato was warm one side, stone cold the other, the fish not well cooked, my wife 's duck and cauliflower soup was also ex duck. There are a number of good restaurants in Munich, but this is not one of them. There is no finesse to the food which seems pre prepared in a hurry. Despite the very average service, we left a reasonable tip, but were not thanked nor did anyone wish us a farewell. Horrible.
Food is always reliably good but it's also a bit pricey. The cocktails in the bar are also nice. It's in an old building with high ceilings and has a charming feel to it. The service changes a bit from time to time. Generally they...are very friendly but some of the waiters tend to be a bit arrogant every now and then. Nevertheless it's a recommendable place to go to.
This place is hip, fine dining in Munich with very cool interior, excellent service, good food, reasonably priced for high level of service and food.
Such a lovely welcome in this beautiful set up. Menu with pasta salads et all an excellent selection of different pies which were lovely. Really recommend
