Contribute FeedbackDespite receiving mixed reviews, The Jalapeño Tree in Nacogdoches, Texas, seems to have left some patrons disappointed while others quite satisfied. One disgruntled customer complained of high prices, poor service, and lackluster food quality, suggesting that the restaurant may be on the decline. Another diner was left unimpressed by the experience and questioned the restaurant's longevity. On the other hand, a party of 37 ladies was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the great time they had. While some patrons experienced issues with their orders and waiting times, others praised the delicious food and friendly staff. Overall, it seems that The Jalapeño Tree may leave some guests disappointed but could still provide a positive dining experience for others.
I'm really sad! I just went to the area and The Jalapeño Tree is my favorite restaurant. I was so excited that there was a place near us! The staff that set us was friendly and we got our drinks quickly, but it took 20 minutes and asked for chips twice before we finally got them. We looked at 4 other groups that were set after us to get them, but we didn't. The order was wrong when he came. My son had a hard bowl Taco with salad, tomatoes and cheese only, no meat and of course it had meat on it. We sent it back and it came back with meat. You didn't make it twice! In addition, he had the children's meal and we asked for the cheese Taco, but when we got the entrance, they calculated the children's meal price of $6.00 and then charged us 49 cents for cheese, salad and tomatoes. He got no pages, so we basically paid $7.50 for a hard bowl taco without meat! I ordered the Bob Hope and asked for the 3 items to have the Tequila cream sauce on all 3 and they didn't even put it on an item. I also asked for Charro beans instead of roasted beans and I never got them. My husband ordered a fajita burrito with chicken and beef, but it had only beef, no chicken! When we told the server that broke out our food, she really sighed loud and said we had to tell our waitress. Our waitress was very busy and we had a hard time getting her attention. We asked for Guacamole 3 times for my son, but he never got it! When we tried to make the best of our family dinner, we also asked for a refill and that never happened. We waited for our reception for 30 minutes, although we asked for it four times. So we paid almost $50 for a dinner, that wasn't what we wanted. We saw the manager walking around and talking to other tables, but never came to us, even though we asked him close to the end! I made the restaurant really sad and disappointed that my favorite restaurant was so badly screwed up!!!
I am amazed at the quality of service we received with our party of 37 ladies. We had great service with pleasant attitudes and smiles. We do this yearly and thank you so much for a great time and food.
We came in with an entire softball team of 13 young girls, all of their siblings, plus parents and some grandparents. Very large party! They were so accommodating to us when we called 15 minutes before showing up. The waitstaff, and management were very friendly and beyond patient with us. Food was good, margaritas were good. Definitely recommend!
We had a Shrine meeting in one of the private rooms and we were well taken care of. The servers were very attentive to our needs and checked in on us often.
The meal was good and our service was great. It was clear they were training new staff and busy, but we got through the meal without any problems. If you look close, you can find our waiter, Kaleb, in the pictures. He did a great job!
